Job Description Janitor Pay:$18.00/hr pay increase to $26.50/hr upon conversion Shift: 5:30pm - 2:00am Sun-Thurs Job Title: Janitor Job Description This role focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized office facilities during evening and night shifts. You will perform routine and detailed cleaning tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and support a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout the building. Responsibilities • Clean and maintain assigned office areas, including floors, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces, according to established standards., • Complete daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, and surface sanitizing., • Operate motorized cleaning equipment safely and correctly, following training and instructions., • Follow all safety rules, company policies, and cleaning procedures at all times., • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and correctly while performing duties., • Report any hazards, safety concerns, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate personnel., • Keep work areas, supply closets, and equipment rooms clean, organized, and properly stocked., • Work collaboratively with team members and follow direction from supervisors and shift leads., • Communicate professionally and respectfully with leads, coworkers, managers, and any on-site contacts., • Assist during staffing shortages by helping with additional tasks or areas as needed., • Support shift leadership by completing punch‑list items and any special cleaning requests., • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold customer service expectations while on site., • Accurately use any required reporting systems and follow environmental procedures related to cleaning products and waste disposal., • Previous experience performing cleaning, janitorial, or general labor tasks in a facility or office environment., • Ability to safely operate motorized cleaning equipment after training., • Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for the duration of a 10-hour shift., • Ability to read and speak basic English to follow safety instructions, policies, and cleaning procedures, or ability to effectively use a translator application., • Reliable transportation to and from work to support a Sunday–Thursday evening and night shift with limited public transit options., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks with attention to detail., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured environment., • Willingness to follow all safety rules, wear required PPE, and adhere to company policies., • Comfort working a Sunday–Thursday schedule from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. or similar evening and night hours., • Comfort working in a union environment if hired directly, including understanding and following union guidelines and expectations., • Access to and familiarity with using a mobile phone, including translator applications if needed for communication support., • Professional communication skills to interact effectively with supervisors and team members. Work Environment You will work in professional office facilities with no customers present during your shift, allowing you to focus on cleaning tasks without frequent interruptions. The environment includes standard office spaces such as workstations, conference rooms, restrooms, and break areas. You will use a variety of cleaning tools and motorized equipment, along with required personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety. The schedule follows a Sunday–Thursday evening and night shift, typically around 5:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., so reliable personal transportation is important due to limited public transit options at that time. The role involves being on your feet for most of the shift, moving throughout the facility, and performing physical tasks such as bending, crouching, and kneeling. A neat, professional appearance is expected while on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redmond, WA.
