They are responsible for the on-time completion of projects or components of large, complex projects for clients in the life sciences field related to funded reports and research. POSITION OVERVIEW The Utilization Manager is responsible for the day-to-day functions of collaborative communication with external case managers at referring provider facilities and/or managed care organizations (MCO) for data collection, interpretation, and certification/recertification from third party payers at pre-admission through discharge, ongoing medical necessity reviews and interdisciplinary team support with respect to MCO requisites. In addition, this position is responsible for having a thorough understanding of patient treatment plans through participative discussions with the care plan (interdisciplinary) team, identifying and referring requests for services to the Medical Director when guidelines are not met and reviewing residential services requiring MCO approval. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Obtaining the required pre-authorization/certification of specified services from the MCO and communicating end of benefit status and/or reimbursement changes to Finance and others as deemed necessary., • Conducting ongoing medical necessity reviews, which may be pre-service, concurrent and/or retrospective in nature, by evaluating clinical data and submitting appropriate documentation to update the patient/resident’s status to the MCO as scheduled., • Acting as a liaison between the residential program and the MCO to better facilitate the reimbursement process., • Referring MCO denials and non-covered medical services to the directors for appeal determination and next steps, • Conduct medical record reviews of all managed care patients within the first 24 to 72 hours (if admitted on a Friday after 5:00pm) then weekly as required to promote desired clinical and financial outcomes by, but not limited to:, • Meeting with all managed care residents/patients to better assist in the selection of appropriate provider resources and identification of quality and cost-effective services throughout the continuum of care., • Acting as a resource to the interdisciplinary team regarding MCO requirements for admission, continued stay and discharge planning., • Providing early identification of covered care and ensuring that claims are approved when the requirements are met., • Collaborate with clinicians to identify discharge needs and coordinates with Social Services in the creation and implementation of a discharge/transfer plan., • Coordinates post-discharge follow-up care with selected patients and community providers., • Maintains strong leadership skills to perform the multiple functions and a wide variety of tasks requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative., • Interacts with executives, directors, key members of the residential team, physicians, and their staff, third party payers, state and federal agencies, auditors, and vendors., • Maintains a high degree of computer proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel which is critical for the analysis conducted using this technology., • Maintains all information in a manner such as to assure strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPPAA., • Maintains full knowledge and understanding of state and federal regulations as they pertain to resident assessment requirements., • Minimum of 2 years of case management and/or utilization review experience, • Associate degree required; bachelor's Degree preferred., • Strong problem-solving and advanced analytical skills necessary to read, understand, interpret, and analyze statistical data., • Excellent oral, written, organizational and interpersonal communication skills., • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership as well as other clinical/nonclinical directors, managers, staff, consultants and MCOs. Job Description Primary Responsibilities Senior Clinical Trial Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of clinical trials and implementing and overseeing various projects. Senior Clinical Trial Manager collaborates with the designated CRO and vendors, as well as internal team across functions, and directs activities to execute and deliver the assigned studies. Travel Required Please note that this role will require on average about 2x travel per month to office locations across the U.S. Responsibilities • Ensure each office in assigned state(s) are operating within company policy, state licensing regulations and The Joint Commission Standards., • Ensure that all staff in assigned state(s) are onboarded within company policy, state licensing regulations and The Joint Commission Standards., • Ensuring employee files are current and in compliance., • Ensuring proper operating procedures are in place for compliance relating to employee onboarding and client admissions, clinical documentation, treatment, and discharge., • Maintain office space compliance for the assigned state(s), • Ensuring routine environment of care and safety requirements are in compliance., • Host and organize site visits/surveys/inspections; travel required., • Assist with completing post-survey written corrective actions plans for submission to surveying entities and monitor company progress on these plans., • Write individualized Policies and Procedures and associated crosswalks as needed., • Assist to ensure that ongoing regulatory and accreditation requirements such as internal inspections, written assessments, and emergency drills are completed on time., • Attending and actively participating in Quality Committee meetings and assure meetings are documented per requirements., • Licensing, Accreditation, and Growth to the state(s) assigned., • Obtain initial facility licenses for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Outpatient Treatment, • Ensure that a staff development plan that meets all local, state, and national requirements is in place for the assigned state(s), • Working with the Clinical Training Team to ensure that all staff training is completed and in compliance., • Assist to ensure all licensing requirements are being addressed/fulfilled., • Assist with all aspects of compliance program and coach team as to best policies and procedures., • Coordinate compliance training and investigate compliance issues as requested., • Work with Recruiting and Personnel Compliance to provide education on specific qualifications for positions that are required by regulatory agencies., • Assist with monitoring and documenting facility incidents, including post-incident analysis, including Root Cause Analysis for any Sentinel EventsRequirements, • Bachelor's degree in healthcare/ human services or equivalent career experience (Legal experience preferred), • 5 years of experience working in a behavioral healthcare or healthcare setting, • 2 years of experience managing a team of 3 or more reports, • TJC Behavioral Healthcare experience, • State regulatory inspection survey experience: Being the DRI for leading surveys and organizing survey preparation, • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and listening skills, with a natural, consultative style, • Ability to energize, communicate, and build rapport at all levels within an organization, • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrable ability to corral and manage details in a fast paced, fluid environment The total target base compensation for this role will be between $84,000 and $108,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance-based bonus. The target total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $84,000 and $118,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. The Contract Manager is a key member of Hillspire’s Contract Management team, reporting to the Legal Director, Contracts and Senior Paralegal, and focusing on the drafting, negotiation and execution of operational contracts, and identifying and implementing improvements to the contracting process. The Contract Manager is expected to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including stakeholders and other shared services teams, to ensure strong communication across functions. The Contract Manager will work alongside specialized legal teams within the family office and other associated entities.Key Responsibilities: • Independently review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and ancillary documents, including, without limitation, confidentiality agreements, independent contractor agreements, event contracts, supplier/vendor agreements, consultant agreements statements of work, amendments, order forms, and other asset management-related agreements, • Develop detailed familiarity of and working comfort with Hillspire contract templates, • Work in collaboration with the Hillspire legal team and various other Schmidt entities to negotiate and incorporate terms as appropriate into Hillspire templates, • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data in proposals (the Contract Manager should be comfortable with numbers), • Incorporate counterparty comments into Hillspire contract templates and/or compare legal terms in counterparty proposals with those in Hillspire contract templates.
