Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY Provides clinical and administrative support within scope of practice to ensure safe, effective, and compliant patient care in an outpatient setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform clinical duties in accordance with established protocols, policies, and scope of practice., • Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, height/length, weight, and other measurements as appropriate., • Prepare patients for examination, including documentation of chief complaint, medical history, and medication reconciliation for provider review., • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., EKG, glucose, HbA1c, urinalysis) as ordered and within scope of practice., • Perform specimen collection, including phlebotomy, as ordered by a licensed provider., • Process and handle laboratory specimens in accordance with regulatory and safety standards., • Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record., • Support clinical quality and regulatory measures by ensuring required documentation is completed., • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention and control policies., • Clean and disinfect exam rooms between patient visits following established protocols., • Support patient flow and clinic operations to promote timely care delivery., • Communicate delays or issues to appropriate staff and patients as needed., • Perform pre-visit planning by ensuring required documentation, test results, and reports are available., • Obtain and manage external medical records as required for continuity of care., • Manage assigned electronic tasks, work queues, and messages in accordance with workflows., • Perform administrative duties as assigned, including scheduling, registration, and phone support., • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals as required., • Collect and process patient payments in accordance with organizational policies., • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard patient information in accordance with HIPAA., • Participate in maintaining a safe work environment and report incidents per organizational policy., • Assist clinical and administrative staff to support daily operations and ensure continuity of care.OTHER DUTIES, • Perform additional duties as assigned., • Participate in opening and closing procedures as required.SKILLS & ABILITIES, • Ability to perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures., • Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation., • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a clinical environment., • Effective communication and organizational skills.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, • High school diploma or equivalent., • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program., • Current national certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA)., • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
