This position ensures buses are cleaned, fueled, and positioned for daily service while contributing to a safe, efficient, and customer-focused transportation operation. This is a physically demanding position requiring employees to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What You'll Do • Clean and wash the interior and exterior of transit buses., • Fuel buses according to established procedures., • Park, move, and position buses for daily service., • Maintain cleanliness standards that support customer health and safety., • Operate cleaning equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely., • Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines., • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure fleet readiness., • Report equipment issues or vehicle damage to appropriate personnel., • Maintain a dependable attendance record and arrive to work on time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What We're Looking For Required Qualifications • Valid New York State Driver's License., • Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Learner's Permit with Passenger Endorsement and no air brake restriction prior to start date., • Clean driving record., • Ability to work effectively in a team environment., • Strong communication skills., • Dependable, punctual, and honest., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Preferred Qualifications, • Previous vehicle washing, detailing, janitorial, or fleet maintenance experience., • Experience working in transportation, automotive, or industrial environments., • Commercial driving experience (helpful but not required). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Strong attention to detail., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment., • Safe operation of cleaning equipment and tools., • Effective verbal communication skills., • Teamwork and collaboration., • Reliability and accountability., • Commitment to workplace safety., • Ability to adapt to changing operational needs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Physical Demands & Work Environment • Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold., • Work in noisy environments around moving buses and heavy equipment., • Ability to hear approaching vehicles, horns, alarms, and verbal communication without direct line of sight., • Work in dark, dimly lit, confined, wet, and slippery environments., • Perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, stretching, and overhead reaching., • Stand and walk for extended periods on hard or uneven surfaces., • Move quickly throughout buses and work areas., • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds., • Use power tools, hand tools, and cleaning equipment safely., • Maintain productivity while performing physically demanding tasks.
