About the Company Our client is a professional employer organization (PEO) based in Lees Summit Missouri. They specialize in creating custom human resources (HR), employee management benefits, payroll, and workers’ compensation and risk management solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses. Who You Are The Payroll Specialist provides payroll support for PPG Clients. This position is responsible for all payroll-related processing activities for Clients under their scope and is responsible for working with Clients to ensure accuracy of each payroll. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborate with PPG Clients to successfully execute day-to-day payroll operations, employee changes, managing and processing off-cycle, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly Client payrolls across multiple states., • Navigate intricacies such as wage garnishments, payroll deductions, court orders, and employee verifications with meticulous attention to detail., • Conduct routine audits and analyses of Client payrolls, ensuring continuous accuracy and proactively contributing to the evolution of the payroll processes., • Run monthly reports, update master payroll calendar, set up pay cards and other Payroll Department duties as assigned., • Address Client requests with flexibility and responsiveness, showcasing expert payroll knowledge and a commitment to Client satisfaction., • This position will work on special projects to identify, assist, and address PPG Client needs., • Learn PPG company policies, SOPs, and procedures to deepen your payroll knowledge., • Collaborate with the Office Manager to define, establish and optimize payroll processes and procedures., • Work alongside, assist, and provide training to fellow colleagues on payroll and system principles and client-specific processes, fostering a culture of shared expertise., • Assist other departments as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to efficiently organize work activities to meet daily and weekly deadlines, • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, • Use logic and reasoning to make immediate decisions under pressure or tight deadlines, • Proven ability to make proper judgment calls when presented by a situation/problem, • Organizational skills, • Listening skills, • Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems, • Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail, • Ability to understand and implement best practice standards, • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources, • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word and Outlook, • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project Education & Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent, • 3+ years of payroll experience, • PEO, ASO, and multi-state payroll experience (recommended but not required), • Knowledge of Prism HR (recommended but not required) Compensation $25-$27/hr Based on experience.
