Job Description Maintenance Technician – Job Description Summary: As a member of the Maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep of The Fun Station’s rides, attractions and games. Guests travel from all over the region to experience our wide range of attractions, and our maintenance team works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure the facilities stay up and running safely. The Fun Station’s attractions range from ziplines, ropes courses, bumper cars and more. Several attractions rise several stories above our park – so be prepared to work at all altitudes. You will be inspecting rides, performing preventative maintenance and making corrective repairs as necessary, always troubleshooting to determine the most feasible way to solve any problem you may encounter. We’re looking for a safety-conscious self-starter who knows their way around pneumatics, hydraulics, motors and conveyors – and can make an immediate contribution to the team. Roles & Responsibilities: • Performs daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections and preventive maintenance., • Inspections include testing, verification and/or calibration of applicable mechanical systems., • Responds to ride calls during operating hours and makes repairs as required., • Diagnoses system failures and provide immediate and corrective action., • Researches defective mechanically-controlled items/parts and instructional information to complete the repair process when needed., • Troubleshoots by referring to technical manuals and while utilizing a systematic approach., • Inputs in log books; completion of inspections, corrective action, and/or repairs made., • Perform Daily Pre-Operational Safety & Maintenance Inspections on all rides within designated zone (or assigned otherwise)., • Make any necessary repairs to attractions, rides and games prior to opening., • Document all inspection and repair related items by use of the pertinent inspection sheets and maintenance logbooks., • Provide ride maintenance coverage to the park and answer all downtime calls on those rides within designated areas (or otherwise assigned) and determine appropriate action for returning ride to service., • Document all downtime facts in the associated ride maintenance logbook., • Perform necessary maintenance on rides during annual maintenance periods., • Fill out necessary parts requisitions for those items deemed necessary for the proper maintenance of rides under individual’s responsibility., • Assist with mowing and landscaping., • Assist with snow removal., • Other duties as assigned. Desired Skills & Requirements • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with effective follow-through., • Excellent organizational skills for keeping detailed records, reports and logs., • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent., • 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance role or an equivalent combination is preferred., • Prior experience in the amusement, restaurant, entertainment industry or high-volume tourist-based entertainment venue is a plus., • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred), • Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred), • Must be able to operate scissor lifts, forklifts and other related lifts., • Must be willing to become CPR Certified, • Must be willing to attend work related seminars and conferences, • Technical training in related field and/or mechanical aptitude gained from previous professional experience., • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License., • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour course completion preferred., • Current certification in any related field or equipment-handling certificates desired., • Must be at least 18 years of age. Requires ability to operate: • Standard mechanical and hydraulic maintenance equipment and hand tools, • Vehicles, • Ladders, • Measuring equipment, • Park rides, • Telephones, • Hand‑held two‑way radios, • Manlift/forklift Physical Demands: • Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday, • Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders, • Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer, • Ability to withstand heat and humidity from the food preparation equipment, • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more Working Conditions: • Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities., • Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditions., • Subject to high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments., • Some weeks will require this position to assist at our other locations to help with maintenance and project needs as directed by the Corporate Director of Facilities., • Ability to frequently work hours that extend beyond 9 AM to 5 PM during the peak operating season., • Must be available to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays., • Must be willing to work overtime when needed., • Typical week will vary depending on business needs and peak seasons, • On average expect all weeks to be 40 hours weeks with occasional overtime depending on park operations.
