GPI is seeking a Branch Manager to lead and grow the Metro New York (MNY) office. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for client development, branch performance, team leadership, and quality project delivery services. The Branch Manager will lead a team of approximately 25 staff, including 19 engineers, across mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, and structural engineering, as well as commissioning services. The office serves both the public and private sectors, supported by established agency contracts and long-standing client relationships. For more information, visit: Responsibilities: The Branch Manager will be responsible for leading MNY in three core areas: growth, delivery, and team development. Drive Strategic Growth: • Leverage NYC-area experience and existing contacts, particularly with architects in the Metro New York area., • Build and maintain a predictable project pipeline by strengthening relationships with core clients and expanding into targeted accounts and services., • Serve as a visible market leader who strengthens executive-level client relationships, supports pursuits, and helps position GPI for continued growth., • Partner with Strategic Growth, Marketing, and Business Development leadership to pursue priority opportunities and convert wins into profitable delivery., • Evaluate potential projects, clients, and contracts to support sound decision-making and effective risk management., • Oversee proposal development and review, including scope alignment, fee strategy, and positioning to support profitable, well-qualified pursuits. Lead Strong Project Delivery: • Lead Directors and Project Managers with clear expectations and accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality., • Strengthen Quality Management and project lifecycle controls to improve consistency, quality, and financial performance., • Support operational excellence that protects client satisfaction and supports effective risk management as the branch grows. Build and Develop the Team: • Recruit and retain high-performing engineering and technical staff in coordination with Human Resources and talent acquisition personnel., • Develop leaders, including Directors and Project Managers, through coaching, mentoring, and structured professional development supported by GPI’s career development and project management training resources., • Support professional development by encouraging staff to earn new credentials, deepen client relationships, and represent GPI effectively in the market., • Foster an engaging and supportive team environment where people feel valued, recognized, and motivated to do their best work., • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement aligned with GPI’s strategic objectives. Branch Leadership responsibilities: • In addition to the responsibilities above, the Branch Manager will:, • Support branch operations and administrative teams in achieving their goals., • Set branch goals and priorities that align growth, delivery performance, client satisfaction, and team development., • Own branch performance across project delivery, staffing, and financial health, including utilization, forecasting, profitability, schedule, and risk management., • Implement a consistent operating process, including PM reviews, staffing and utilization checks, forecasting, and project closeout discipline., • Build and leverage relationships with other GPI branches to support client service, staffing, and pursuits as part of a One Team GPI approach., • Balance near-term delivery needs with long-term branch development so growth, staffing, and quality objectives remain aligned. Leadership Expectations: • The Branch Manager is expected to lead in a way that balances GPI’s strategic priorities, including employee satisfaction, quality, client satisfaction, financial strength, risk management, goals-oriented management, and continued growth. Required: • New York State Professional Engineering license, • 20+ years in A/E consulting, with vertical/building systems experience required, • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing senior leaders, including Directors and PMs, • Strong operational and financial management skills, including forecasting, utilization, and profitability controls, • NYC institutional/public-sector client experience and understanding of agency environments.
