Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon manages a 5-year grant by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to raise the standard of care for traumatized children in New York City. REACH focuses on school-aged children and older through the implementation of anti-oppressive, age-appropriate trauma interventions. The Director SAMHSA Child Trauma Initiatives is responsible for integrating the staff development and direct service components of REACH to facilitate their implementation in Safe Horizon’s child trauma cluster which includes our Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC), Child Advocacy Centers (CACs), Child Trauma Response Team (CTRT), and Safe Way Forward (SWF) program. The Director will continue to serve as Principal Investigator (PI) of REACH initiative. They will be responsible for the activities of the program to provide all our clients, school-age children up to age 17 and their families, with a service experience while maintaining data collection systems, evaluation programs, and maintaining full compliance with all federal regulations and reporting requirements for the program The Director also ensures the implementation of effective evaluation measures and completion of all client-level assessments and data gathering that is required for REACH. The Director will report to and collaborate regularly with the Vice President Children and Mental Health on REACH administration activities. Responsibilities: The Director is responsible for the design, launch, administration, evaluation, reporting, and outcomes of REACH while maintaining this child trauma program that includes influencing city-wide systems and practice enhancements in collaboration with national child trauma model developers, government partners, and an array of internal stakeholders to ensure the success of these initiatives. The program has grown from its beginnings in 1984 as a storefront project to encompass both outreach and comprehensive harm reduction services. The core service is long-term, one-on-one counseling, which is offered in a non-judgmental and holistic manner utilizing a harm reduction approach that focuses on building trust, fostering self-esteem, exploring options and choices, and empowering youth to change their high-risk behaviors. As part of our continuum of services we operate an emergency housing program for homeless youth in NYC, Streetwork Overnight. The Overnight is a 24 bed facility for youth ages 16-20. It is open from 7 pm to 10 am 7 days a week. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to support the youth while they are in our crisis shelter. As part of our continuum of services, we also provide overnight outreach in teams of two seven nights a week (7 pm to 3 am), throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Casual Youth Advocates work overnight hours to meet the most disenfranchised youth while they are in crisis. Company X is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of a new network of digital screens that will provide enhanced customer information at stations and on trains, as well as new opportunities for revenue generating advertising. This transformative project will be the largest deployment of digital media in a transit environment and will create a ubiquitous real-time customer communications and advertising platform that will reach MTA customers throughout their journeys. Company X is looking for a highly motivated deputy/junior program manager to join a cross-functional team working on the MTA deployment and ongoing advertising concession.
