Position Summary The Detox & Addiction Treatment LPN provides direct nursing care and support to clients receiving detoxification and substance use disorder treatment services. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or physician to monitor patient health, administer medications, provide treatments, and support clients throughout the recovery process. Essential Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to clients in detoxification and addiction treatment programs., • Assist with admission assessments and ongoing monitoring of client health status., • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and within scope of practice., • Monitor clients for withdrawal symptoms and changes in physical or behavioral condition., • Collect specimens for laboratory testing and analysis., • Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record., • Provide health education and wellness support to clients., • Assist with treatment planning and communicate observations to the interdisciplinary treatment team., • Maintain accurate and detailed client records., • Respond appropriately to medical, behavioral, and emotional crises., • Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic treatment environment., • Monitor client activities and report concerns to supervising clinical staff., • Support daily living activities and general client care needs as appropriate., • Assist with meal distribution, room preparation, and other client support functions when needed., • Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and other team members to promote positive treatment outcomes., • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing., • Current BLS Certification., • Strong assessment, observation, and communication skills., • Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use and behavioral health challenges., • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Preferred • Previous experience in detoxification, addiction treatment, behavioral health, mental health, or correctional healthcare settings., • Experience administering medications and monitoring withdrawal symptoms., • Knowledge of addiction recovery principles and treatment programs., • Crisis intervention and de-escalation experience.
