General Purpose: Supervises lifeguards the safety and cleanliness of the swimming pools and locker rooms. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Water Safety Instructor is responsible for operating and maintaining the main and child swimming pool and pool deck during the summer months from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend., • Daily inspections of the pool ensure the pool is cleaned regularly throughout the day by lifeguard staff. This includes skimming, vacuuming, and backwashing the filter as needed., • Monitor and maintain appropriate water chemistry levels, including pH, chlorine, and other chemicals, to ensure the pool is safe and clean for swimmers., • Perform the necessary tasks to open the pool for the season and close it at the end of the season, including winterization., • Inspect and maintain pool equipment, such as pumps, filters, and chemical feeders., • Perform minor repairs and arrange for professional repairs or replacements with the General Manager and/or Maintenance Director when necessary., • Maintain the cleanliness of locker rooms, pool toys/floats, and other pool supplies stocked and in good working order, replace when needed., • Regularly test the pool water to ensure it meets health and safety standards., • Make appropriate adjustments as needed to maintain water quality and clarity., • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pool operation and, • safety regulations., • Implement safety measures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment for swimmers., • Update the General Manager as needed about important information pertaining to the lifeguard program and/or pool., • Maintain detailed records of pool maintenance, water chemistry tests, and equipment inspections., • Keep records of chemicals used and their dosages for our own records and for the Health.
