Job Description Position: Bilingual Prevention Educator - Fatherhood FLSA status: Non-Exempt Hours: Full time, M-F Department/Location: Fatherhood/Hauppauge PURPOSE: To assist men enrolled in the Long Island Fatherhood Initiative (LIFI) program in their efforts to become responsible, committed and nurturing fathers. The Prevention Educator will help dads strengthen their connection and involvement in the lives of their children by teaching curriculum-based workshop and activities addressing: • Responsible parenting, • Sustaining healthy marriage/relationships, • domestic violenceprevention, • economicstability SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: • Preventing family violence and child abuse/neglect by providing information on the impact of domestic violence and child abuse on families in-person and virtually., • Enhancing the financial well-being of Probation/CPS/Family Court involved fathers using the 24/7 Dad Non- Custodial Dad "booster" on Money Management, • Assist with program enrollment/orientation activities including but not limited to conducting intake assessments, client participation letters, nFORM entrance and exit surveys and preparation of participant welcomekits, • Maintain records of all client activities completed on nFORM and other required data collection platforms including individual clientcharts, • Disburse incentives earned by completion of 24/7 Dad parenting workshop and other program milestones and support, • Participate in all professional development opportunities including but not limited to on-going training at conferences and webinars addressing Fatherhood, Healthy Relationships, Domestic Violence and Economic Stability, • Working as a part of a team to deliver a range of community outreach and engagement activities to promote services offered through the LIFI program to prospective partner organizations including but not limited to probation/parole,DrugandFamilyCourt,CPS,homelessshelters,transitionalandrecoveryhousingfacilities, • Prepare reports as requested and other project duties as assigned including hotline coverage ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP Reports to the Senior Prevention Educator PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bilingual (Spanish/English), • Bachelor Degree preferred with a minimum of two years of experience in social services, group presentations or teaching., • Excellent oral and written communication, • Lived experience with the family or criminal court system, whether personal or through a family member, is a plus and highly valued, • Willingness to work as a supportive teammember, • Working familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and virtual platforms (zoom, google meet,etc)., • Fingerprint clearance, • Understanding of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and/or stalking **Valid driver's license and a reliable transportation is a MUST **This position requires traveling to both Nassau & Suffolk Counties for program delivery and will require some evening and weekend hours.
