Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Pilot Bakery & Commissioning Manager to lead operations in our state-of-the-art pilot bakery and manage the commissioning of new production lines throughout the U.S. and Canada. This hands-on leader will bring deep expertise in AMF Bakery Systems technologies-including Dividing, Sheeting, Depositing, Laminating, and Baking-and proven experience across multiple bakery product categories. In this role, you will partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Care to validate and optimize equipment and processes, ensuring seamless transitions to full-scale production. You will plan and run pilot trials, uphold the highest standards of product quality and process efficiency, and lead commissioning efforts that deliver on our commitments to safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. How you will impact AMF • Collaborate with project managers to deliver products and solutions that meet all contract requirements., • Proactively create new bakery concepts using AMF technologies, aligned with market trends and customer needs., • Identify AMF solutions that address customer challenges and enhance operational performance., • Lead the Pilot Bakery as a premier customer showcase and innovation hub, ensuring excellence in trials, demonstrations, and product development., • Accelerate commissioning timelines and achieve flawless start-ups through expert testing oversight and process validation., • Act as the link between Sales, Project Management, and customer operations, translating technical equipment capabilities into practical, bakery-floor solutions., • Drive measurable customer performance improvements by optimizing AMF equipment settings, processes, and workflows after installation., • Build customer satisfaction and loyalty through proactive after-sales support, on-site troubleshooting, and targeted training., • Uphold AMF's market reputation by ensuring every pilot trial and commissioning project reflects our standards for quality, reliability, and innovation., • Share process improvement opportunities from field experience with R&D and Engineering to inform upgrades and future product designs., • Outstanding communication, listening, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor delivery for diverse audiences., • Strong customer service orientation with a track record of building and sustaining lasting client relationships., • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in fast-paced, high-pressure environments., • Hands-on approach with expertise in equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting., • Solid understanding of processing and baking fundamentals for breads, buns, pastries, croissants, pizza, cakes, and pies., • Collaborative team player able to work seamlessly across Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Care functions., • Comfortable working in bakery plant settings, including exposure to heat, noise, and machinery., • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities, customer demands, and travel schedules., • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Bakery Science, or a related field., • Minimum of 5+ years' experience working with industrial bakery equipment., • Knowledge of bakery functional ingredients or Food/Bakery Science background, • Proven experience in industrial equipment commissioning, including installation oversight, performance validation, and troubleshooting., • Valid U.S. or Canadian driver's license with a clean driving record., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences., • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment., • AMF Bakery Systems offers a competitive compensation, benefits package, and excellent opportunities for growth throughout our organization globally and within the Markel Food Group
