Job Description YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES MANAGER Salary: $52,000-$58,000 yearly w/benefits Anti-Drug & Alcohol Crusaders, Inc. (ADAC) is a non-profit community-based organization that has been in operation for 38 years delivering academic support, violence and substance misuse prevention education, health and recreational activities, youth career readiness, and support services to youth and families residing in Philadelphia. Position Summary The Youth & Family Services Manager will be responsible for the successful development, maintenance, management, and oversight of ADAC’s youth & family services. These services include school & community-based youth prevention education, afterschool & summer camp activities, and family & community engagement. In addition, any other youth & family initiatives and projects that ADAC implements, this Manager will oversee, to ensure its success. This Manager will directly supervise the program coordinators and will report directly to the Executive Director. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Recruit, hire, train, support, and manage program staff, interns, and volunteers, to ensure fidelity, adherence, success, and sustainability of program goals., • Collaborate and work closely with program staff, schools, and community partners to plan, facilitate, and implement events, workshops, speaking engagements, and activities for youth, parents, families, and community. Topics & activities related to social-emotional learning, violence, substance misuse, delinquency, mental health, and other related topics., • Works with the program staff to keep inventory of supplies, organization of materials, and coordinate purchasing with the office staff., • Determine the needs for materials and supplies, inputting electronic/manual purchase requisitions, maintaining purchase order log, and submitting receipts and other paperwork to the appropriate persons., • Represent ADAC as a liaison, advocate, and coordinator of the programs as described in the program requirements., • Ensure full enrollment of programs by developing, approving, and implementing strong marketing, promotional, & outreach strategies, while also assisting the program coordinators in recruiting and enrolling schools, students, families, and community members., • Guide external communications strategies by working directly with social media, the website, and other mobile social platforms and/or overseeing the staff, to share our services and disseminate program information., • Research, identify, analyze, and implement needs of the programs through appropriate assessments., • Track measurable goals and objectives for programs; design a methodology for estimating the effectiveness and quality of performance; and improve services as appropriate., • Oversee the planning of data collection, management, analysis, and evaluation of program information, • Serve as a spokesperson for the programs when the Executive Director is unavailable to do so, including representing the organization to the larger community at public events, prevention activities, and media engagements, as needed, • Coordinate with the other programs in the school (e.g., extended day or summer school) to maximize opportunities for families and children., • Maintain a regular presence at the OST sites to observe, engage, coach, and support site-based staff while building and maintaining relationships with youth, staff, and school administration., • If applicable, interact with students as a group as well as individually. Identify students who need special services such as individual mentoring; follow the progress of students and make sure that appropriate support services are provided to these students., • May need to hold individual meetings with OST students & parents. Keep records of each student’s progress towards accomplishing the steps required through the program’s grant components., • Provide occasional on-site monitorings for school and community-based services, • Attend school, community, network, coalition, collaborative board, and grantee meetings on behalf of the programs & services., • Provide leadership in developing sustainability needs for future years and research & develop relationships for sustainability., • Develop, write, and execute a plan, proposals, reports, concept papers, and other materials needed to secure additional funding to support the project; complete and submit grant applications which address the program needs, • Perform fundraising activities to obtain funding to support prevention initiatives., • Assist the Lead Staff in the overall planning, implementation, and advancement of program objectives., • Work with community and district partners to fulfill requirements of grants., • Support the City of Philadelphia, PA State, Federal, and other designated project evaluators by gathering student data; helping compose, distribute, and collect surveys; and completing other activities necessary for project evaluation purposes., • Develop new and innovative partnerships to meet changing needs and interests of students and programs, while maintaining strong relationships with current partners, • Assist the Executive Director and additional staff in further program planning and implementation; grant writing and fundraising efforts; performance assessment; preparing program reports; and evaluating the advancement of program objectives, • Report all activities, operational procedures, emergencies, and conflicts to the Executive Director, • Other duties within reason may be added as deemed necessary by the Executive Director, Technical Assistance, and grantors to ensure quality services. Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in studies related to sociology, psychology, education, behavioral health, human services, criminal justice; or equivalent education., • Three or more years of relatable management experience, progressive responsibility with program design and oversight, and experience working in education, youth recreation, and/or social services., • Strong organizational, time management, and written & oral communication skills., • Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects & tasks., • The candidate will need to work occasional evenings and Saturdays., • Occasional travel for site support, meetings, training and conferences., • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of personal auto insurance, and your own reliable vehicle and/or access to transportation when necessary/required., • Mandated reporting certificate, Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI clearances, • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Zoom, Microsoft Office, and database programs ADA Requirements Physical & Mental Requirements • Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects & tasks, • Ability to deal with stressful situations., • Possess analytical skills and strategic mindset., • Ability to deal with a wide variety of community people, students, and vendors of services., • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer., • Must be able to walk, stand, and carry items for events, workshops, and facilitating presentation., • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
