Job Description Seamstress / Cutter Farhaanah’s Garments — Luxury the Modest Way Position Title: Seamstress & Garment Cutter Location: 4663 Stenton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA (Nigel’s Marketplace) Position Summary Farhaanah’s Garments is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress & Cutter to join our luxury modest fashion brand. This position requires someone experienced in cutting patterns, sewing high-end fabrics, and producing quality overgarments, abayas, and modest wear with precision. We specialize in luxury modest garments, so attention to detail and clean finishing is extremely important. Primary Responsibilities ✂️ Cutting • Accurately cut garments from patterns, • Measure and mark fabrics precisely, • Work with oversized and custom size charts, • Cut luxury fabrics including satin, silk, chiffon, and specialty materials, • Ensure minimal fabric waste Sewing • Construct garments from start to finish, • Sew clean seams and professional finishes, • Install zippers (including hidden/nursing zippers), • Sew ruffles, gathered styles, and flowing silhouettes, • Work with delicate fabrics without damage, • Maintain consistent stitching quality Alterations & Custom Work • Perform garment adjustments, • Assist with on-body fitting adjustments (Princess Treatment style cutting, if trained), • Follow custom measurements accurately Requirements • Proven sewing experience (3+ years preferred), • Experience cutting without constant supervision, • Ability to read and follow patterns, • Experience with modest garments preferred, • Ability to sew straight, professional seams, • Familiarity with industrial sewing machines, • Reliable and punctual, • Detail-oriented and quality-focused Preferred (But Not Required) • Experience with luxury fabrics, • Experience sewing abayas, jilbabs, or modest wear, • Pattern drafting skills, • Speed without sacrificing quality
