Position Overview This is a full-time on-site role for a Government and Regulatory Affairs Attorney, located in Cherry Hill, NJ. The attorney will handle day-to-day tasks such as advising clients on compliance with government and regulatory guidelines, representing clients in government and public sector matters, analyzing regulations and legislation, and developing strategies for navigating local government processes. The role also includes building and maintaining relationships with government representatives and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Serve as legal counsel to municipal governments, agencies, boards, and officials on a wide range of public-sector matters., • Provide legal advice and formal opinions regarding municipal law, governance, ethics, compliance, and regulatory issues., • Draft, review, and negotiate ordinances, resolutions, contracts, interlocal agreements, and other municipal documents., • Represent municipalities in litigation, administrative proceedings, hearings, and appeals in state and federal courts., • Attend and advise at public meetings, including governing body sessions, planning boards, zoning boards, and other municipal boards and committees., • Handle land use, zoning, redevelopment, and planning matters, including applications, approvals, and enforcement actions., • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including Open Public Records Act (OPRA), Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA), ethics laws, and other statutory requirements., • Coordinate with municipal administrators, department heads, outside consultants, and opposing counsel to resolve legal issues efficiently., • Assist with risk management, claims handling, and insurance-related matters affecting municipal clients., • Stay current on developments in municipal, administrative, and public-sector law and advise clients accordingly., • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in representing public entities.
