Job DescriptionSalary: 20/hr About Girls Inc. Girls Inc. of Greater Miami is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the next generation of strong, smart, and bold leaders. The Girls Inc. Experience provides comprehensive and interactive leadership development to equip girls with the knowledge and skills to reach their full potential and the support to actively realize it. Through our free after school programming, we equip 2nd-5th grade girls - particularly girls from historically under-resourced communities - with the knowledge and skills to create positive changes in their lives and to become leaders who will change the world. Our professionally trained staff and volunteers provide mentorship, safe spaces, and skill building that address the unique challenges girls face. We cultivate physically and emotionally safe environments where girls are encouraged to take healthy risks, learn from experiences, and grow. As a member of the Girls Inc. team, you will have the opportunity to work with passionate individuals who are committed to creating a world where every girl can reach her full potential. What a Typical Day Looks Like A typical afternoon begins with picking up girls from school dismissal and guiding them into the program space. Facilitators supervise snack, provide homework support, and lead structured activities such as discussions, games, creative projects, and skill-building lessons. Throughout the program day, facilitators maintain active engagement, support positive behavior, and help girls build confidence and strong peer relationships. The day concludes after family pickup, when facilitators clean up and complete final administrative tasks. Schedule (Fall 2025 - June 2026) Weekly: Monday: 1:00pm - 6:30pm Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 2:30pm - 6:30pm Wednesdays: 1:30pm - 6:30pm • a 45-minute weekly check-in, time TBD In Person Development Workshops: 10:00-5:00pm (tentatively) March 20th, 2026 April 3rd, 2026 June 5th, 2026 Expected Hours Per Week 20-25 hours per week (not including the workshop hours listed above) Responsibilities • Program Facilitation:, • Supervise and engage a group of up to 20 elementary-age girls during afterschool programming from school dismissal through family pickup, including transitions, snack time, structured activities, and recreation., • Lead structured activities such as academic enrichment, creative projects, discussions, and skill-building lessons aligned with Girls Inc. curriculum., • Use engaging strategies to create an interactive and inclusive learning environment., • Guide girls through daily activities that build confidence, communication skills, and positive peer relationships, and provide homework support., • Supervision & Safety:, • Maintain active supervision during all activities, transitions, and dismissal procedures., • Ensure adherence to the daily program schedule and activity flow., • Follow all safety procedures and emergency protocols., • Support safe transitions from school dismissal to program activities and through end-of-day pickup., • Positive Program Environment:, • Reinforce Girls Inc. behavioral expectations and community agreements., • Use positive behavior management and emotion coaching strategies., • Ensure all participants feel welcomed, included, and supported., • Promote a respectful and supportive group culture., • Planning & Preparation:, • Prepare lesson materials and activity supplies in advance of program sessions (curriculum and supplies are provided)., • Follow program content plans and adapt activities as needed to support student engagement and learning., • Reflect on facilitation strategies and participant engagement to strengthen future sessions., • Collaboration & Operations:, • Work collaboratively with fellow facilitators, interns, and the Program Coordinator., • Assist with activity setup, transitions, and clean-up., • Help maintain organized activity spaces and materials., • Support volunteers or interns participating in programming, • Communication & Documentation:, • Maintain accurate and consistent record keeping, including attendance and required program documentation., • Communicate important updates, concerns, or behavioral incidents to the Program Coordinator., • Follow procedures for snack distribution and daily program operations., • Assist with surveys, assessments, or other data collection as instructed., • Professional Expectations, • Participate in required staff meetings and professional development opportunities., • Receive coaching and feedback with openness and professionalism., • Understand and follow all organizational policies and procedures. Qualifications • High school degree required; Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred., • At least one year of experience leading or facilitating activities with youth in a group setting., • Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and the ability to be on site at the assigned school Monday-Friday, with occasional travel to Opa-Locka for facilitator trainings., • Demonstrated understanding of child growth and development, particularly with elementary-age girls., • Commitment to working with youth from a variety of backgrounds and communities, with sensitivity to cultural, linguistic, family, and ability diversity., • Strong group facilitation skills and a willingness to continue developing classroom management strategies., • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills., • Positive, energetic, and caring approach when working with youth., • Ability to plan, organize, and maintain accurate records related to program activities and attendance., • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with youth, families, colleagues, and school partners., • Comfort using Google Workspace and willingness to learn Girls Inc. program databases and systems.
