Job Description Job Title: Electromechanical Technician – 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM) Job Description This Electromechanical Technician role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You support continuous operations on the overnight shift by minimizing downtime, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. The position offers initial hands-on training on an earlier shift before transitioning to a permanent 3rd shift schedule. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to keep production equipment operating reliably., • Maintain and repair PLC-controlled equipment, motors, conveyors, presses, and other automated machinery., • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to reduce unplanned downtime., • Diagnose electrical issues, including 480V and 240V systems, control panels, sensors, and related components., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documentation to support accurate repairs., • Support equipment startups, changeovers, and process improvements to enhance production efficiency., • Document all maintenance activities accurately and update records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)., • Follow established safety procedures and maintenance protocols during all repair and service activities., • Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and performance., • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety standards at all times., • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to inspect, test, and repair equipment., • Participate in hands-on training during initial onboarding on 1st or 2nd shift before transitioning to the permanent 3rd shift., • Work independently during overnight hours while maintaining a high level of safety, quality, and attention to detail. Essential Skills • At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment., • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills for production and facility equipment., • Basic electrical knowledge, including experience working with industrial power systems and controls., • Experience working with industrial machinery, production equipment, and conveyor systems., • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documentation., • Familiarity with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment; PLC or VFD experience is a plus., • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems., • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively., • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently during overnight hours., • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail in all tasks., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift., • Ability to work overtime as needed to support production demands., • Ability to communicate effectively in either English or Spanish; bilingual skills are highly preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs)., • Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems in a production environment., • Experience disassembling and reassembling mechanical components for repair and maintenance., • Comfort working with conveyor systems, presses, motors, and other automated machinery., • Familiarity with CMMS or other maintenance documentation systems., • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset., • Ability to adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Willingness to complete an initial 3–4 week training period on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) or 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) before moving to 3rd shift. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting that supports a high-volume production operation. You complete an initial 3–4 week training period on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) or 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM), then transition to a permanent 3rd shift schedule from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The work environment includes exposure to dust, noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures, with a combination of indoor and some outdoor work as needed. You spend most of the shift standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs while working around conveyors, presses, motors, and other industrial equipment. You regularly use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform maintenance tasks. Toe protection and appropriate safety gear are required at all times, and the facility emphasizes strict adherence to safety procedures and OSHA standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
