Job Description Job Summary: Mobile Mammo NW is the South Puget Sound’s first dedicated Mobile Mammography Program started by the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation and operated by TRA Medical Imaging. The Mobile Mammography Modality Specialist for MobileMammo NW, operated by TRA Medical Imaging, serves as the primary clinical and technical authority for the organization’s clinical mobile breast imaging program, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality mammography services within a mobile clinic environment across South Puget Sound and surrounding communities. This role is responsible for performing advanced screening mammography while overseeing the technical integrity and operational performance of the mobile unit, ensuring strict adherence to MQSA, ACR, FDA, and Washington State regulatory requirements. The Modality Specialist maintains accountability for imaging quality, patient safety, radiation protection, infection control, equipment functionality, and documentation compliance in alignment with MobileMammo NW standards and TRA Medical Imaging policies. Operating in a dynamic mobile setting, this position ensures the unit remains inspection-ready at all times, manages quality control protocols, supports mobile workflow efficiency, and ensures proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of mammography equipment at each service location. The Modality Specialist functions as the lead expert for mobile screening mammography within the mobile program, providing clinical guidance and technical oversight to supporting technologists while collaborating closely with TRA operational leadership, scheduling teams, and community partners. In addition, the Mobile Mammography Modality Specialist plays a key role in advancing the mission of MobileMammo NW to expand equitable access to breast cancer screening for underserved and high-need populations, delivering care with professionalism, compassion, and cultural sensitivity while reinforcing the clinical excellence and community reputation of TRA Medical Imaging. This role requires advanced technical proficiency, regulatory expertise, and strong organizational skills to ensure compliance, consistency, and a superior patient experience across all mobile deployment sites. Location: As a mobile position, this role will be based out of our Tacoma, WA location but will be expected to travel locally. Schedule: 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week Pay: $44.00 - $74.81 per hour based on relevant experience, skills, and abilities. This role is also eligible for up to a $10,000 sign on bonus (based on FTE). Benefits Highlights: • Generous PTO: Up to 17 days/year for new employees + 9 holidays + rollover, • 401(k): 3% automatic employer contribution + 3% match, • Annual pay increases, • Full benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, mental wellness Mammography Tech Lead Responsibilities • Develop and mentor technical staff, guiding them with expert knowledge and support., • Responsible for workflows, protocol development and changes for MM throughout TRA., • Act as primary contact for the radiologist relating to quality of images, protocol changes/enhancements and technical staff skill development., • Provide expert knowledge to other departments, providers and patients when questions arise as they relate to the MMNW y., • Ensure compliance with all regulations related to the safe and lawful operation of MM imaging services for the organization, including ACR, state inspections, annual Corwin evaluations, radiation safety or any other regulatory requirements., • Responsible for staff scheduling, and coordinating PTO and low census with the support of management, • Work from multiple locations as needed, i.e., MMNW coach, outpatient sites, and corporate office. The MM Specialist will also travel regularly on the MMNW coach working as a mammography technologist. They will also work as a Mammography Technologist at various TRA Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Imaging NW sites when the mobile mammo coach is not operating. • Prepares patients for radiologic exams with thorough explanations of the procedures and clear instructions., • Obtains a thorough patient history as it relates to the exam to be completed., • Accurately implements the orders of the referring physician, producing radiographs with minimum patient exposure and repeatability., • Presents high quality radiographs and pertinent patient history to radiologist for interpretation., • Performs necessary computer functions associated with patient exam, • Responsible for keeping work area and patient exam areas neat and stocked with appropriate supplies; and participating in orientation and in-service training for personnel., • Follow the HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures., • Check work email daily., • Responsible for providing daily coverage as working mammography technologist in all mammography specialties., • Provide oversight for mammography quality control and medical outcomes tracking/evaluation. Education/Work Experience • ARRT Advanced certification in Mammography ARRT (M), • Must be and maintain compliant with all CME, education, certification requirements and provide documentation., • ARRT, Registered Mammography Technologist (M), with WA State licensure, • A valid driver’s license and auto insurance in good standing is mandatory., • Current BLS certification required (for clinical staff), • Ability to drive a large RV preferred (no CDL required), • Prior experience as lead technologist., • Maintains a professional demeanor with confidentiality., • Proficient in the use of computers and computer information systems, and provide training and super-user support to team members., • Meet and support the workflow demands of a fast paced, customer focused service environment in clinic setting., • Utilizes accurate written and oral communications with patients, physicians, co-workers and supervisor., • Maintains high standards regarding the accurate recording of patient information., • Is prompt and efficient with minimal absences., • Cooperates and maintains good rapport with co-workers and ensures proper patient care and efficient workflow., • Ability to manage multiple tasks and carry out instructions effectively., • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills., • Communicate professionally with other medical facilities, patients, and customers. Work is classified as moderate in physical requirements. Must be able to assist in supporting patients of varying weight. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Also requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment as necessary. Mental Requirements Work requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle mentally stressful situations. The ability to maintain high level of sensitivity towards confidential information is also required. Working/Environmental Conditions Work environment is primarily mobile (RV) requiring travel to at least one location per day. Occasionally it would also consist of normal office or administrative working conditions. There may be exposure to communicable diseases. There will be limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
