Job Description Director of Sales – Full-Service Hotel South Plainfield, NJ Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 We’re seeking a driven and highly organized Director of Sales to lead all sales efforts for a full-service hotel in South Plainfield. This is a sole seller position, giving you full ownership of both room sales and catering/event sales, with the support of a dedicated Sales Coordinator to help keep your pipeline moving and your clients taken care of. What You’ll Lead As the hotel’s primary seller, you will be the face, voice, and driving force behind all sales activity. Your work will directly shape the hotel’s revenue, reputation, and market positioning. • Manage the entire sales process for group rooms, local corporate accounts, social events, and in-house catering business., • Oversee day-to-day sales activity with the support of a Sales Coordinator who assists with administrative duties, proposals, contracts, and client communication., • Build strong relationships within the South Plainfield and Middlesex County business communities to generate new partnerships and long-term clients., • Conduct outside sales calls, site tours, networking visits, and community outreach initiatives to grow market presence., • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and operations teams to ensure every group or event is executed flawlessly., • Maintain detailed forecasts, sales reports, proposals, and contracts with accuracy and attention to detail., • Reengage lost accounts, nurture past clients, and uncover new revenue opportunities across corporate, group, and social markets., • Stay current on market conditions and competitive insights through regular review of STR data and industry trends. What Makes You a Strong Candidate • 5+ years of hotel sales experience, ideally in a full-service property with exposure to both rooms and catering sales., • Proven ability to manage an active sales pipeline while balancing prospecting, relationship development, and on-property responsibilities., • Confident, polished communicator who excels at negotiations, presentations, and client engagement., • Strong understanding of revenue strategies, market segmentation, and business planning., • A self-starter who enjoys autonomy and thrives in a role where results come from your drive and effort., • Leadership ability to work effectively with a Sales Coordinator and cross-functional hotel teams., • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
