Summary: Service Technicians diagnose and repair technical problems with milking systems and perform general maintenance and service tasks on customer farms. Primary Duties/ Responsibilities: • Diagnose technical problems and determine proper solutions for equipment that can include, but is not limited to; sorting gates, herd management equipment such as cow scout, milk tanks, and other associated equipment., • Provide service/customer support during field visits or dispatches., • Perform necessary electrical maintenance and service tasks., • Collaborate with service/sales colleagues when needed., • Tie “workflow” to your daily schedule., • Produce timely and detailed service reports., • Communicate with Service Manager if/when a follow up call is required., • Engage in continued education when necessary (as requested by your branch manager), • Keep accurate records and files., • Remain reliable during your “on call” timeframes., • Build positive rapport and relationships with our customer base., • Observe all bio-security measures., • Keep abreast of the latest methods for producing/ selling high quality milk., • Follow all company procedures and protocols., • Maintain a professional image., • Be a positive part of the F&T team., • Other duties as assigned.Requirements: Preferred Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade. Basic computer skills including exposure to Microsoft, Google and other related software systems. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year previous trade experience including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automation, welding, etc. Prior dairy experience strongly preferred. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and can safely operate a motor vehicle within DMV and DOT guidelines. Management Responsibilities: This position has no management responsibilities. Physical Requirements: Flexibility to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, squat, and or crawl to perform repairs and inspections. Must be able to lift/push/pull 70 pounds at times. Must be able to climb a ladder and or work using scaffolding. Must be able to do fine manipulation with hands. Equipment Used: General equipment used in this position includes but is not limited to power tools, hand tools, multimeter, refrigeration scale, grinders, drills, welding equipment, torches, ladders, skid loader, power lift, forklift, and pallet jacks. As well as laptop/tablet/smartphone and other general office equipment. Safety, Protective Clothing & Gear Requirements: Safety requirements for this position include but are not limited to proper footwear while working on farm and in warehouses. Use of safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, etc. Employees must follow any additional safety requirements as posted in specific job areas. Environmental Conditions: Working conditions potentially associated with this position include, but are not limited to farm environment, hazardous materials, electrical hazards, frequent driving, power tool operation, adverse weather conditions, forklift operation, use of ladder and or scaffolding. Job DescriptionPower-Flo Technologies Auburn is now hiring a Mechanic for our Pump and Motor Repair Shop. At the direction of the Shop Manager, Mechanics are responsible for the proper disassembly and evaluation of various electric motor styles including troubleshooting. They are also responsible for the assembly, quality control and testing processes involved in electric motor repair. Field Service positions are also available to properly qualified individuals. Mechanic Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following : • Disassemble mechanical AC & DC motors, gear units and pumps., • Assemble mechanical AC & DC motors, gear units and pumps., • Diagnose problems and failures of incoming units to ensure the customer’s complaint is resolved., • Interpret and apply dimensional measurements., • Measure and record electrical data, mechanical fits and clearances., • Write up work scopes for all necessary materials in order to complete the repair., • Follow all necessary instructions in order to complete the repair., • Electrically connect repaired apparatus for test runs., • Maintain a neat and orderly work area., • Organize and maintain personal and shop tools and equipment., • Willing and able to work OT as required. Mechanic Necessary Qualifications include : • 2 years' mechanical assembly and disassembly experience., • Ability to read mechanical prints and schematics., • Ability to work independently and in a team setting., • Basic knowledge regarding use of a PC., • Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists etc., • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical theory required., • Valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed. Physical Requirements : • Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours., • Ability to lift 50 pounds., • Ability to work on elevated platforms., • Ability to climb ladders., • This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching., • You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions., • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.
