Job DescriptionJob Title: Manufacturing Technician – Thermoform Process Job Description This role focuses on operating and supporting thermoform processes to manufacture high‑detail, large‑scale plastic components used in industries such as medical equipment, robotics, and transportation. You will work with heated, extruded plastic sheets formed over single-sided molds, often using vacuum systems to shape and drape the material, while spending significant time on the production floor and working hands-on with tools and machinery. Responsibilities • Operate thermoform equipment to produce high-detail, large-scale plastic components according to production specifications and quality standards., • Work with heated, extruded plastic sheets and form them over single-sided molds using vacuum systems to shape and drape the material accurately., • Perform machine setup, basic adjustments, and changeovers to support efficient manufacturing processes., • Use hand tools and wrenches, including allen/hex, torque, and socket wrenches, to assemble, adjust, and maintain production equipment and tooling., • Monitor manufacturing processes and machinery performance, identifying and reporting issues to maintain safety, quality, and productivity., • Follow established manufacturing procedures and work instructions to ensure consistent output and adherence to safety guidelines., • Inspect finished components for defects and dimensional accuracy, and make necessary adjustments to equipment or process parameters., • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse and production floor., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives., • Work on your feet for extended periods and perform hands-on tasks with high wrench time in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of experience as a manufacturing technician or in a similar hands-on manufacturing role., • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, preferably gained in plastic machinery or the automotive industry., • Experience working with production and manufacturing processes involving plastics., • Proficiency using wrenches such as allen/hex, torque, and socket wrenches in a production or maintenance setting., • Steady employment history with no significant unexplained gaps or frequent job changes., • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform physically active tasks with high wrench time., • Basic understanding of machine operation and manufacturing equipment., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in setting up machines and automation is a strong plus., • Experience with injection molding processes and equipment is highly desirable., • Familiarity with machine operating in a plastics or automotive manufacturing environment., • Comfort working in a warehouse or production floor environment., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse that is described as not excessively hot, with work primarily performed on the production floor and around thermoform machinery. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch break. Additional hours on Saturdays are available on a voluntary basis, providing flexibility for those who want extra overtime. The role involves standing and moving throughout the shift, working directly with plastic manufacturing equipment, tools, and vacuum-forming systems in a hands-on, industrial environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
