Job DescriptionSalary: 15.85 ATHENS RESTAURANT WEEK EVENT PLANNING INTERN Get ready to be part of one of Athens' most exciting events of the year! Athens Restaurant Week is back this July, and Visit Athens is looking for a dynamic intern to help organize and promote this community-wide celebration of local food. As the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County, we work with participating restaurants to make this event a must-attend, and we want YOU to be a part of it! As our Event Planning Intern, youll play a key role in bringing Athens Restaurant Week to life. Youll work alongside our marketing & communications team, assisting with everything from recruiting restaurants to developing promotional materials, managing event assets, and supporting our social media efforts. Youll get to flex your creativity while gaining valuable hands-on experience in event planning, marketing, and content creation. What Youll Do: • Recruit local restaurants to participate in Athens Restaurant Week (at no cost to the restaurants!)., • Gather menus, photo/video assets, and event details from participating restaurants., • Ensure all information is accurately entered into a CRM database and displayed on the event website., • Assist with the development of promotional materials to attract event goers., • Help manage social media content leading up to and during the event., • Assist with media relations to secure event coverage., • Hybrid Position: Up to 20 hours per week (4-6 hours on-site, with the rest of the hours flexible and off-site)., • Internship Dates: Start Date: May 12) | End Date: July 30 (may extend to August 7 based on availability and interest)., • A reliable self-starter with great attention to detail and a creative flair., • Strong interest in event planning, marketing, and content creation., • Great communication and organizational skills.
