About GVETS GVETS provides emergency and urgent veterinary care 365 days a year, including nights, weekends, and all major holidays. Our hospital features modern, high-tech diagnostic and treatment equipment, a collaborative team culture, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care. What You’ll Do Emergency & Critical Care: • Perform triage and initial assessments on incoming emergency cases, • Assist veterinarians with emergency examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, • Provide hands-on nursing care for critical patients, including IV catheter placement, medication administration, and lab work, • Assist with anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, surgical procedures, and CPR/emergency resuscitation, • Monitor patients’ vital signs, pain levels, and response to therapy Technical Skills: • Place and maintain IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and collect lab samples, • Operate diagnostic equipment (radiology, ultrasound, laboratory analyzers), • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery, • Perform CPR and emergency resuscitation when required Client Communication & Support: • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient status and treatments, • Provide emotional support during emergencies and critical care situations, • Educate clients on discharge instructions, medication administration, and follow-up care Hospital Operations: • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment, ICU, and surgical areas, • Ensure all equipment and supplies are stocked and in working order, • Adhere to hospital safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols, • Accurately document patient records, treatments, and progress notes What We’re Looking For • Experienced Veterinary Assistants are welcome, • Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT, RVT, LVT) preferred, • Previous experience in emergency or critical care strongly preferred, • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, team-oriented environment, • Excellent communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills, • Willingness and desire to work part-time nights, weekends, and holidays, • Strong technical skills in emergency and critical care medicine are desirable Why Join Us / What We Offer • Competitive pay based on experience, • Be part of a dedicated, supportive, and amazing emergency veterinary team, • Meaningful, rewarding work supporting pets and their families, • Get in on the ground floor of a new hospital and shape its future, • Plenty of room to grow and advance your career as the hospital expands, • Training and growth opportunities in the veterinary field, • Fun, fast-paced working environment, • Daily interaction with pets in need If you are passionate about emergency medicine and want to make a difference while being part of an amazing team with room to grow, we’d love to hear from you!
