Job Description Job Description: * Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production. * Sorting, and receiving specimens in the department. * Performs routine instrument maintenance on some equipment. * Performs laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data (temperature charts) specimen storage and retrieval. * Preparing reagents and or media in the department. * Preparing specimens at workstations for testing. (Including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking specimens for clots and fibrin, inoculation, slide preparation) * Performs QA/QC duties as assigned. * Resolves pending lists. * Finds missing samples. * Decontaminates work areas. * Performs weekly radioactive wipe tests. * Maintains files for department records. * Changes gas cylinders. * Follows all PPE requirements and all safety regulations. * Uses the laboratory computer system as well as operates PCs. * Disposes of biohazardous material. * Completes training and competency checklists as appropriate. * This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of the work performed by this position. CMA will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our physician practice in the specialty of women’s care.We’re looking for a Certified Medical Assistant with a MINIMUM of 1 year experience and successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program in addition to the requirements below: Minimum Requirements:, • High School Diploma or equivalent, • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program (e.g., AAMA, NHA), • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, • Outstanding customer service skills, • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, • Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in the following practice category specific tasks: clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting lab specimens, assisting with procedures, and administering medications; and administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling patient interactions, • Must have basic computer skills, • Knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.Responsibilities: Clinical Duties:, • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and documenting patient information., • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures., • Administer injections and perform phlebotomy as directed by the physician., • Perform basic laboratory tests and process specimens., • Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment., • Provide patient education and instructions., • Prepare examination rooms.Administrative Duties:, • Greet and register patients, verifying insurance information., • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow., • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records (EHR) systems., • Process prescription refills and manage medication requests., • Handle medical billing and coding tasks as needed., • Maintain inventory of medical supplies.Other Duties:, • Adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations., • Maintain a clean and organized work environment., • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care., • Other duties as assigned.Work Schedule & Compensation, • Full-time, full benefits, • This is a direct hire position as an employee of the Company (NOT a temporary job), • Daylight shift Monday through Friday (must be available to occasionally work a later schedule 10:30 am – 7:00 pm), • May require local travel occasionally to other local offices to support staffing needs, as needed., • Salary for new hires: up to $22.00 per hour, to start, • Promotional growth through dedicated career ladders is expected, • Based on performance, employees can earn additional pay up to $26.50 per hour (pay raises are based on work performance, career development, and occur incrementally, over time).About the CompanyNovus Group is your advocate to DIRECT HIRE positions with a multibillion-dollar organization.
