Job Description Position Description: Case Manager Job Summary: Jenesse Center has an immediate opening for a Case Manager in the Legal Services Department supporting its Crisis to Shelter (CTS), Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART), and Legal Services programs. The Case Manager provides crisis counseling, case management, advocacy, support, and follow-up services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking referred by our CTS, DART, and Legal Services programs, utilizing trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive modalities. This in-person position requires traveling to Jenesse’s various facilities and service locations to assist clients. Mileage reimbursement is available for personal vehicle usage. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Facilitates overall needs assessment (safety, housing, legal, health, vocational, and mental health), • Works to develop an individual, holistic case plan that includes tasks, goals, and a timeframe for accomplishing them, • Support victims and survivors by helping them access options that empower them in the healing process, including establishing a safe contact system, maintaining confidentiality, establishing a safety plan, securing essential resources, and collaborating with credible agencies that are trauma-informed and respectful of client confidentiality, • Mobilizes and coordinates both Jenesse and community resources to assist assigned clients, • Works with counselors, housing advocates, and children’s program coordinators to ensure client goals are met, • Advocates for the victims’ fair and equitable treatment at various helping agencies, • Coordinates transportation and accompaniment for clients to appointments as appropriate, • Keeps accurate records of all client-related contacts following Jenesse’s protocols and policies, • Participates in case conferences, case consultations, and other client-related meetings, • Conducts follow-up with clients after exiting the program, • Monitors relationships with outside agencies to enhance and improve services to Jenesse’s clients, • Completes all paperwork promptly, • Minimum of 2 years of crisis intervention and case management experience working with survivors of domestic, dating, and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, or other vulnerable populations, • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish; ability to interpret and translate from Spanish to English and English to Spanish;, • Demonstrated ability to utilize a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach in working with clients, • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment requiring flexibility and strong collaboration skills, • Attention to detail and superior written and oral communication, and advocacy skills, • Demonstrated commitment to working with survivors of trauma, including domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other crimes against persons, • Knowledge of various services and resources in the South LA area and beyond, available to assist survivors of domestic violence, • Established relationships or partnerships with other service providers are a plus, • Ability to work successfully with people from diverse backgrounds and all levels of personnel About the Organization: Founded in 1980, Jenesse is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit domestic violence intervention and prevention organizations in South Los Angeles.
