However, being a part of a community health clinic, you will also have the opportunity to engage with a multidisciplinary team made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to provide holistic care. The work schedule is structured from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on client needs. Key Responsibilities\n\n • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, employing standardized methods to evaluate patients’ emotional and psychological states and devise individualized treatment plans.\n, • Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, to deliver effective evidence-based interventions during one-on-one and group therapy sessions.\n, • Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups to help patients understand their conditions and foster peer connections, creating a supportive community atmosphere.\n, • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to coordinate comprehensive care for each patient, ensuring their treatment plan addresses all facets of their well-being.\n, • Provide crisis intervention services, being available during urgent mental health situations to ensure patients receive immediate support and guidance.\n, • Educate clients about various treatment options as well as community resources that can complement their mental health journey, empowering them to make informed decisions.\n, • Maintain detailed and confidential patient records following legal and ethical guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.\n, • Engage in case consultations and team meetings that are vital for the continuous improvement of care strategies and maintain knowledge of best practices in the mental health field.\n, • Stay updated with current research trends and advancements in mental health counseling to continually enhance your professional skills and service quality.\nPatient Population / Client Focus\n The counselor in this role will primarily work with a diverse clientele who face various challenges related to mental health. Our patient population includes adults dealing with chronic mental health conditions, young adults transitioning to independence, as well as families seeking support for relational issues. Understanding the multifaceted nature of mental health is essential, and your ability to connect with individuals from varying backgrounds and experiences will be critically important. Qualifications\n\n • Must possess a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.\n, • Hold current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New York.\n, • Demonstrate a strong clinical foundation in mental health disorders, therapeutic mediums, and evidence-based treatment strategies.\n, • A proven ability to conduct extensive assessments and devise treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs.\n, • Experience in providing both individual and group therapy to varied populations, showing adaptability and understanding of different therapeutic contexts.\n, • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to ethical practice and professional boundaries.\n, • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.\n, • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment and contribute positively to group dynamics.\nPreferred Experience\n\n, • Previous experience working within community health settings or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.\n, • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and other relevant therapeutic modalities.\n, • Experience in psychoeducational programming and group facilitation.\nCompensation and Benefits\n This full-time position offers an attractive salary range of USD 52,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and level of expertise.
