POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Service Attendant is the first point of contact for guests at the Oxford Collection Suites bistro and catering functions, ensuring a welcoming and efficient dining experience. This position is responsible for taking customer orders, serving food, processing payments, and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards. Additionally, the Food Service Attendant ensures that all service areas are well-stocked and organized while delivering exceptional guest service. They always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with guests to ensure every aspect of their stay exceeds expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times. Food and Beverage Service (70%): • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and kitchen staff, ensuring accurate order taking and service, • Take customer orders, serve food, prep food, and prepare coffee or tea, following food safety and quality guidelines, • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the bistro or catering area, including tables, utensils, glassware, condiments, and dining surfaces, • Buss and clean tables after each guest use, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment, • Assist with event setup, service, and teardown for catering functions and banquet events as needed, • Wash dishes in the absence of a dishwasher, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness Guest Relations (20%): • Interact, acknowledge and greet guests as they enter the restaurant or bistro area Other (10%): • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team, • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services, • Obtain sales leads for the sales department, • Coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff, Food and Beverage Manager and General Manager on things requiring attention, • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts CORE SKILLS AND VALUES • Company Character – Supports company vision and values, • Customer Service – Understands and meets the needs of customers, • Interpersonal Communication – Relates well with people, verbally and in written form, • Professional Appearance - Presents a professional and polished look, • Stress Management – Exhibits self-awareness and self-control in pressure situations, • High School Diploma or GED preferred, • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain), • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, • Reliable transportation to and from work, • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays, • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently, • Must be able to list 30 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects, • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis, • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat) All offers are contingent on pre-employment screening.
