WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The Lead Electrician oversees electrical work across multiple production facilities. This role provides technical expertise, leads a team of electricians and apprentices, and ensures that all installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks meet proper techniques, safety guidelines, and industry standards. Lead Electrician supports daily production needs, coordinates construction-related electrical tasks, and ensures reliable facility operations. The role also requires the ability to answer questions at any time and address issues as they arise to keep operations running smoothly. • Assign and oversee daily tasks to ensure quality workmanship, productivity, and adherence to proper techniques., • Conduit Installations, Robroy, Ridgid,EMT as required., • Coordinate workforce schedules to support both production demands and construction project timelines., • Identify and correct potential hazards in both operational and construction environments., • Responsible for following safety procedures and policies through facility, • Lead and mentor a team of electricians and maintenance technicians., • Schedule, assign, and inspect electrical work to ensure compliance with codes and company standards., • Train team members on electrical safety, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance procedures., • Collaborate with supervisors and production leads to minimize downtime and coordinate repairs., • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, and equipment (motors, conveyors, lighting, sensors, VFDs, etc.)., • Perform regular inspections of electrical systems and update preventive maintenance schedules., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of production and agricultural systems including irrigation, refrigeration, and automated packaging lines., • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and electrical drawings., • Enforce electrical safety standards in compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company policies., • Maintain lockout/tagout procedures and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols., • Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance documentation., • Support electrical design and upgrades for new installations and process improvements., • Work with engineering and production teams to improve system reliability and energy efficiency., • Recommend and implement technology or control system upgrades for productivity enhancement., • Respond promptly to and in the most helpful, professional manner to production, maintenance, and leadership needs., • Promote a productive and proactive work environment that encourages continuous improvement., • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, rules, and expectations., • Stay up to date on all relevant state laws and regulations related to NEC, OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable electrical and safety standards., • Strong understanding of electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase., • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Proficiency with motor controls, sensors, and automation systems., • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics., • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities., • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and NEC standards., • Demonstrated ability to use proper electrical techniques and follow safety guidelines., • High School/GED with 5-7 years of industrial or agricultural experience in a related field or combination of both education and experience., • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role., • Bachelor’s Degree and/or vocational training in electrical field, • Eight to ten years’ experience in a related field, • Environmental exposure - cold/wet conditions (40°ree; Fahrenheit or below); will work in ALL facilities (indoor and outdoor)., • Material exposure – moving mechanical parts, • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry between up to 55 lbs., • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis when assigned to perform work duties in Main Shipping area., • Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, and handle scanning objects in one position or in a repetitive motion for an extended period of time., • 3rd Shift - 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM; Monday through Friday, Weekends and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotation workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs.
