American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Boston, Massachusetts. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Hospital-based PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) setting, open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, • Case types include trauma, pediatrics, ortho, general, cardiac cath, interventional radiology (IR), neuro (IR), and electrophysiology (EP), • Average daily caseload ranges from 30–60 cases, • 12-hour shifts on a mid-36-hour day/evening rotation; must be available to work any combination of the following shifts — Day: 6a–6:30p, 7a–7:30p, 8a–8:30p; Evening: 9a–9:30p, 10a–10:30p, 11a–11:30p, • 36 hours per week, • Every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday as needed, • No on-call requirements, • May float to a secondary PACU location as neededRequirements, • Active MA RN license required, • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — all must be active, • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with strong Phase 1 recovery background required, • Experience with large complex surgical cases including neuro, thoracic, vascular, and ortho spine required, • Pediatric experience required, • Ability to independently read, interpret, and identify telemetry rhythm strips and heart blocks required, • Must pass a telemetry test on Day 1 with a score of 84% or higher, • Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) prior to placement, • TNCC preferred, • Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), include a performance evaluation, and be dated within the past 12 months; the second may be within 3 years, • References cannot be from fellow travelers, • Driver's license required for considerationAdditional Information, • Provide Phase 1 PACU recovery care for a high-volume, diverse surgical caseload including complex neuro, thoracic, vascular, and pediatric cases, • TNCC certification is preferred and may strengthen candidacy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
