Job DescriptionJob Title: Material Handler Job Description We are seeking a diligent and disciplined individual to join our team as a Material Handler. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for performing shipping functions for freight and materials, ensuring accurate records related to the receipts and returns of inventory. Your role is vital to maintaining the smooth flow of production and impacting the company's balance sheet items related to inventory and accounts payable. Your efforts directly contribute to the company's profitability by ensuring materials are delivered to the correct areas, preventing production interruptions. Responsibilities • Deliver materials to appropriate work center drop zones, departments, or personnel., • Pull carts prior to truck build and return parts from carts through QC bay back into inventory., • Process yellow tags and investigate/resolve inventory discrepancies., • Handle medium to heavy weights and operate fork trucks, hand trucks, and other equipment in the receiving area., • Assist in shipping, warehouse, or storage locations as required., • Assist with annual physical inventory., • Schedule LTL shipments for outbound materials and manage outgoing UPS shipments., • Answer flags on the shop floor., • Perform back-up duties for all shipping activities, including data entry., • Process rejected materials through IRM procedures.Essential Skills, • Ability to improve warehouse and receiving processes for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency., • Technological proficiency with operations manufacturing software and Microsoft products, including Excel and Word., • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and follow-up skills., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be a strong team player., • Ability to safely operate forklifts, hand carts, and other necessary equipment., • Capability to lift/push up to 50 lbs.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience maintaining an orderly appearance in the area through the 5-S system.Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a dynamic environment where you will handle shipping and receiving tasks, operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and utilize RF scanners. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, New York. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.16 - $42.16/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
