Job Description Northwest Frozen is seeking a strategic, disciplined, and highly analytical Supply Chain Manager to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations-with a critical early mandate to revamp our MRP processes and oversee the implementation of a new materials planning system. This leader will drive accuracy, continuity of supply, and optimized material flow to support our high-volume food manufacturing environment. We operate the largest sushi factory in North America, producing over one million pieces of sushi daily, along with a growing portfolio of restaurant-quality frozen and fresh ready meals. WHAT YOU'LL DO MRP Overhaul & Systems Implementation (Primary Initial Focus) • Lead a full redesign of the company's MRP process to improve planning accuracy, consumption tracking, and raw material alignment., • Manage the selection, rollout, and adoption of a new MRP/ERP platform (e.g., EasyMRP or Wherefour)-including configuration, testing, data migration, and go-live execution., • Define and institutionalize standardized planning inputs and S&OP processes across Supply Chain and Operations., • Train cross-functional teams on new systems, ensuring compliance and sustained utilization., • Build dashboards and KPIs to track MRP accuracy, supply continuity, and material availability. Supply Chain Strategy & Planning • Own materials planning and supply forecasting to ensure uninterrupted operations across all product lines., • Build integrated supply plans aligning procurement, inventory, warehousing, and logistics with business demand., • Develop KPIs for supply continuity, supplier performance, and logistics reliability., • Identify structural supply chain gaps and implement long-term improvements to reduce cost and increase resilience. Inventory & Materials Control • Oversee inventory planning and raw materials forecasting to maintain optimal levels., • Maintain and improve inventory control procedures aligned with FIFO, traceability, and QA expectations., • Manage ERP/MRP inventory processes with accuracy and discipline., • Oversee cycle counts, reconciliations, and root-cause analysis of variances., • Coordinate closely with Warehouse, Production, and QA to ensure material accuracy and availability. Procurement & Supplier Management • Lead sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiations for ingredients, packaging, and indirect materials., • Maintain and strengthen vendor partnerships, monitoring reliability, lead times, quality, and compliance., • Implement dual-sourcing and other risk-mitigation strategies to prevent supply disruptions., • Oversee supplier documentation, pricing accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving Oversight • Provide direct leadership to warehousing, material movement, receiving, and shipping functions., • Manage and develop the Logistics Coordinator, who supervises the Shipping & Receiving team., • Ensure that all warehouse and material handling processes meet food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements., • Drive improvements in layout, flow, material staging, and space utilization., • Establish and enforce standards of organization, cleanliness, and operational discipline across all warehouse zones. Logistics & Distribution • Oversee inbound freight and outbound distribution through the Logistics Coordinator., • Optimize transportation scheduling, cost efficiency, and carrier performance., • Ensure strict control of goods movement for traceability, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Cross-Functional Coordination • Partner with Production, QA, Finance, R&D, and Executive Leadership to maintain smooth operational flow., • Establish communication rhythms to ensure visibility into material availability, supply risks, and needed adjustments., • Support new product commercialization by coordinating sourcing timelines, materials readiness, and ramp-up planning. Leadership & Accountability • Build and develop a high-performing supply chain organization., • Implement clear operating standards and ensure consistent execution across supply chain, warehouse, and logistics functions., • Drive a culture of discipline, ownership, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving. IDEAL CANDIDATE • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, or inventory control-preferably in food manufacturing, CPG, or a GMP environment., • Hands-on experience implementing and leading ERP/MRP systems and driving significant process changes., • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data and create actionable insights., • Effective communicator-clear, proactive, and solutions-oriented., • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in high-volume environments., • Proficient in Excel; comfortable in systems-driven operations., • Leadership presence-sets high standards and delivers results.
