Job DescriptionThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. CNAs assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations. Responsibilities • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene., • Assist residents with mobility including transferring, positioning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices., • Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, and mental conditions to the licensed nurse promptly., • Take and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight as assigned., • Assist residents with meals including feeding residents who require assistance and documenting intake when necessary., • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided according to facility policies and procedures., • Answer resident call lights promptly and respond to requests for assistance., • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents while maintaining respect for their dignity and privacy., • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized resident environment including making beds and ensuring rooms are tidy., • Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times., • Participate in resident care planning and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team., • Observe and report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns immediately., • Attend required in-service training and staff meetings.Qualifications:, • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of New Jersey (or applicable state)., • Current CPR certification preferred., • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
