American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/17/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a Level 1 Trauma ICU with 32 SICU beds, a 36-bed Medical/Cardiac ICU, and a 12-bed overflow ICU, • Patient population includes trauma, neuro-surgical, surgical, cardiac, and medical critical care cases for adults over age 15, • Common cases include trauma, falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, ex-lap, crani, neuro-surgery, CVA, post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS, DKA, vascular surgeries, and ECMO, • Nurse to patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1, depending on acuity, • RNs are required to titrate drips including propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, and multiple pressors and sedatives, • Mechanical ventilation managed with Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s BiPAP, Airvo devices, • No monitor techs—RNs must independently interpret their own strips using GE monitors, • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with self-scheduling and required 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, • First to float; may float to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 nurse to patient ratio as needed, • No call or standby, but may be low censused up to 3 times per contract, • Unit requires navy scrubs, • Perform advanced critical care nursing for diverse neuro, trauma, cardiac, and medical patients, • RNs expected to interpret telemetry without monitor tech support and manage all assigned critical care drips, • Work collaboratively with a 24/7 in-house intensivist team and respiratory therapy, • Skills will be validated for trauma, neuro, and specialty equipment and devices as needed, • One to two days of unit-specific orientation are provided, • Must wear navy scrubs as per dress code, • First-time travelers considered if experience requirements are met, • May only have one holiday off per assignment, • Expect to float between all three ICU units as needed\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience, including neuro or cardiovascular ICU experience, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (no pending allowed), • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance; max 2 attempts, • Must pass a sterile technique simulation lab on Day 1 of orientation, • Two references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years with dates of employment and rehire eligibility, • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, • May not have worked directly (full time, part time, PRN) for any CommonSpirit facility in the past year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
