Job DescriptionSupervisor, Operations Position Overview: The Supervisor, Operations monitors and coordinates all functions related to terminal, landside, and airside operations. This includes ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations of government agencies, and JFK International Air Terminal, LLC. This role requires a high degree of initiative, sound judgment, operational excellence, and leadership. Reports To: Duty Manager, Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Status Salary Range: $55,000 - $58,000 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervises, directs, and monitors daily performance of JFKIAT subcontractors., • Establishes, builds strong working relationships, and liaisons with all stakeholders, including Airlines, Ground Handlers, business partners and government agencies., • Conducts daily performance evaluations/inspections/audits., • Responds to incidents/accidents, conducts investigations as necessary, and prepares Medical/Incident reports., • Coordinates and dispatches service calls for subcontractors., • Initiates, receives, and actions communication via radio and telephone., • Manages/executes daily operational gate/hardstand, check-in, and baggage belt plans, and coordinates airlines’ metering time., • Enforces rules and regulations, and issues warnings and infractions accordingly., • Conducts on-the-job training as needed., • Assists management with other tasks/projects as needed., • Associate degree preferred, • Supervisory experience preferred, including operational decision-making, preferably in an aviation or airport settingSpecial Requirements, • Valid Driver’s License, • Must be able to pass, obtain, and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport, • Aviation knowledge (preferred), • Proficient with Microsoft Office applicationsSkills, • Strong administrative and organizational skills, • Strong verbal and written communication, • Active learning: Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making, • Active listening: Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times, • Time management: Manage one’s own time or the time of others, • Coordination with others: Adjust actions in relation to others' actions, • Judgement and decision making: Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate oneAbilities, • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers from a variety of disciplines, • Can analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to develop and communicate complex information orally and in written format, • Comprehend oral information: Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, • Speak: Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand, • Comprehend written information: Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing, • Write: Communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand, • Recognize problems: Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, • Reason to solve problems: Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense 9xQhsIVySE
