Capital District Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (CDOMS) is seeking a Treatment Coordinator / Check-Out Specialist to support both our Latham and Albany surgical centers. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with oral surgeons, clinical staff, and patients to ensure a seamless and supportive experience - both at check-out and throughout the patient journey. Why Join CDOMS? • Reputation for Excellence: Over 40 years as the Capital Region’s premier oral surgery practice-implants, extractions, sedation, and more, • Modern, Collaborative Environment: Digital workflows, high patient volume, on-site parking, and supportive, high-performing colleagues, • Growth & Recognition: Opportunity for advancement, CE support, and a leadership role within a dynamic specialty practice, • Competitive Pay: $25–$29/hour based on experience and skills Location: CDOMS - 7 Southwoods Blvd, Ste 1, Albany, NY 12211 Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Thursday 8AM-4PM, Friday 8AM-2PM Compensation: $23-25/hour (commensurate with experience) Your Role: Treatment Coordinator/ Check-Out Specialist • Motivate, support, and encourage team members and patients, creating a positive and professional environment, • Prepare and present treatment plans and financial estimates, working closely with providers to ensure patient understanding and acceptance, • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments at the time of treatment planning; optimize doctor schedules to achieve daily production goals, • Manage check-out process, handle all paperwork, financial arrangements, consent forms, policy forms, and exit paperwork, • Conduct follow-up with patients regarding pending or incomplete treatment plans; assist patients with insurance benefits and financial questions, • Identify all necessary pre-authorizations at the time of treatment planning, • Effectively handle incoming and outgoing patient calls, providing exceptional customer service, • Work closely with the clinical team to manage patient flow and facilitate same-day treatment starts when possible, • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and adhere to HIPAA/privacy guidelines, • Demonstrate commitment to practice policies, service excellence standards, and participate in continuous improvement efforts, • May travel to other office locations as needed What We’re Looking For • Minimum 2 years of clinical or administrative dental experience required (oral surgery/specialty preferred), • High school diploma or GED required, • Knowledge of dental software (Denticon, WinOMS, or similar) required, • Solid understanding of PPO, Indemnity, and HMO dental insurance, • Excellent communication, customer service, and arithmetic skills, • Motivating team player and leader with attention to detail, • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines, • Strong computer proficiency (MS Office and dental software), • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate closely with management, • Bilingual abilities a plus About CDOMS CDOMS is a regional leader in oral and maxillofacial surgery, serving the Albany and Latham communities with advanced surgical care - including dental implants, extractions, hospital-based cases, and sedation dentistry.
