Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Construction Estimator to support our expanding pipeline of Site/Civil projects. In this role, you will be a key contributor in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates that drive successful project wins and profitable execution. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and leadership while leveraging industry‑leading tools like HCSS to produce high‑quality, strategic estimates. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Estimation • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for site/civil construction projects including residential, commercial, industrial, roadway, highway, and infrastructure work, • Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope and resource needsPricing & Cost Analysis, • Build, update, and maintain cost databases and pricing models, • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and competitivenessBidding & Proposals, • Prepare, organize, and submit competitive bids and proposals, • Ensure all submissions align with client specifications, project objectives, and internal costing standardsChange Order Management, • Review and prepare pricing for change orders, • Work with project management to ensure accurate scope adjustments and budget alignmentSoftware & Systems, • Utilize HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob for estimating, cost tracking, and project documentation, • Maintain accurate estimate data within all systemsCross‑Functional Collaboration, • Partner with project managers, engineers, and leadership to support project planning and cost strategy, • Participate in project meetings and offer insights on cost drivers and risksCost Monitoring, • Track and report project costs vs. estimates, • Identify potential issues early and provide recommendations to maintain financial performanceQualifications, • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in the heavy civil or site development sector, • Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob, • Strong understanding of bidding, proposals, change orders, and preconstruction processes, • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills, • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, • Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamWhy Join Us?, • Competitive salary + comprehensive benefits package, • Career growth & professional development opportunities, • Collaborative, team‑focused culture, • Access to cutting-edge technology and estimating tools, • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) with company match, • Paid time off + company holidays Project Management • Construction Estimating • HCSS HeavyBid • HCSS HeavyJob • Pricing • Change Orders • Bidding • Cost Modeling • Preconstruction • Civil Construction Project Experience (Preferred): Heavy Civil • Site Development • Highways • Roadways • Bridges Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $88.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
