Job Description Job Title: Delivery Driver (Box Truck – NYC Metro Area) Job Description This role involves safely operating a 14 ft. box truck from a central office in Woodside, Queens to deliver HVAC-related materials to job sites across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx. The driver loads and unloads materials, manages basic inventory, and ensures timely, accurate deliveries while working independently on the road throughout the day. Responsibilities • Drive a 14 ft. box truck each morning from the Woodside, Queens office to assigned job sites across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx., • Receive and follow a daily delivery route, ensuring all materials reach the correct job sites on time and in good condition., • Handle and transport materials including sheet metal, ductwork, pipe materials, and boxes with care and attention to safety., • Pick up materials from supply shops as needed throughout the day to support ongoing projects., • Load the truck at the start of the day, securing all materials properly for safe transport., • Unload materials at job sites, confirming that the correct items and quantities are delivered., • Monitor inventory levels at the office, including commonly used materials, and promptly notify office staff when stock is low., • Return to the Woodside office at the end of each day with the truck, following all company procedures., • Unload remaining materials as needed and reload the truck to prepare for the next day’s deliveries., • Navigate city streets and parking conditions throughout NYC safely and efficiently, following all traffic and parking regulations., • Work independently for long periods while maintaining clear communication with office staff and job site contacts., • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a box truck throughout New York City., • Proven ability to navigate parking and traffic conditions throughout NYC safely and efficiently., • Experience making deliveries for an HVAC-focused employer or similar construction/mechanical environment., • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. repeatedly for loading and unloading materials., • Strong material handling skills, including safe loading and unloading of sheet metal, ductwork, pipe materials, and boxes., • Experience with basic inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting low inventory., • Ability to work independently for long periods of time while staying reliable and productive., • Strong communication skills to coordinate with office staff, supply shops, and job site personnel., • Prior experience in a mechanical, construction, or HVAC distribution environment., • Familiarity with New York City neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx., • Attention to detail when checking delivery addresses, materials, and quantities., • Reliable time management skills to complete routes within scheduled hours. Work Environment This is a field-based role with a typical schedule of 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Most weeks include a standard workday, with some weeks requiring an additional 1-2 hours of overtime and other weeks offering up to 10 hours of overtime, depending on workload. Each day starts at the office in Woodside, Queens, where you pick up the 14 ft. box truck and load materials for delivery. You spend most of the day on the road driving throughout Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx, delivering materials to job sites and occasionally picking up supplies from local shops. At the end of the day, you return the truck to the Woodside office, unload as needed, and reload the truck to prepare for the next day. The role involves frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of materials such as sheet metal, ductwork, pipe materials, and boxes, and requires practical, work-appropriate attire suitable for driving and material handling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Queens, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
