Research Responsibilities Laboratory-based research efforts will focus on the molecular biology of gene therapy for malignant and non-malignant diseases with the goal of include establishing a platform for tracking clonal expansion and monitoring transgene integration and expression in gene therapy trials, as well as participating in the development of novel strategies for the treatment of globin disorders. Research projects will be conducted under the mentorship of senior investigators at CUIMC and CICET, including Drs. Michel Sadelain (who will provide direct oversight and supervision of research projects), Max Mamonkin and Markus Mapara. It is expected that 80% effort will be devoted to laboratory-based research activities. Clinical Responsibilities Clinical responsibilities will include serving as attending physician on the inpatient stem cell transplantation service and providing outpatient care to children, adolescents and young adults who have undergone stem cell transplantation. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to attend and participate in clinical stem cell transplantation meetings, as well as divisional and departmental clinical conferences.
