You will oversee the day-to-day management of key boat projects and work to achieve the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope. You will work closely with Sales/Business Development, Engineering, Production, and Customer Support to ensure successful completion of projects throughout their lifecycle. You will act as a liaison between the customer and SAFE Boats to provide status updates, clarify requirements, resolve problems and ensure a healthy relationship. Projects may include new boat builds, major service and warranty jobs for existing boats, and large parts sales. What you will do: • Provide support to Design and Production teams to ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget, • Review contract terms and conditions and technical specifications and verifies compliance with requirements, • Act as primary point of contact between the customer and SAFE Boats during the production process, • Act as principal liaison between the sales leader and production and/or the Customer Support Department, • Coordinate the development, planning and scheduling of project goals, milestones and deliverables and communicates with internal and external project stakeholders, • Facilitate production and problem solving through communication with internal resources and third parties/vendors, • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and material project costs using appropriate verification techniques, • Interface with finance and business development to ensure milestone payments and completed projects are invoiced promptly and correctly, • Report and escalate problems/issues as needed to internal management, • Prepare risk assessments for each project to include contingency planning and risk mitigation, • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on commissioning and support requirements, • Coordinate with vendors to complete OEM certifications, • Coordinate on-vessel inspection activities, • Develop and maintains project documentation including ODCs, • Develop, facilitate, and contribute to process/quality improvement teams and/or initiatives. Identifies and recommends improvements to scheduling processes, practices or materials which lead to positive results in product quality., • Participate in new business proposals, • Comply with and enforces standard company policies and procedures., • Communicate with other SAFE Boats departments regarding all activities related to quality, cost, and delivery of boats, • Provide regular updates to customers regarding the progress of their vessel throughout the period of performance, • Conduct final inspection of completed boats to ensure all open Quality Assurance (QA) discrepancies and any other known defects are addressed, • Coordinate team to complete customer post-inspection actions, • Coordinate with shipping to ensure delivery in accordance with contractual commitments, • Technical – Solid background in boat manufacturing and/or marine industry, • Process - Understanding of the sales/warranty/service process, engineering/design process and production workflow, • Methods - Understanding of project management principles, • Time Management – Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others. Understand cross functional relationship of timing and influence on schedule, • Judgment and Decision Making - Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one, • Problem solving - Ability to identify problems, conduct research, consult subject matter experts and present timely cost-effective solutions, • Communication - Excellent internal and external client-facing communication skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, • Organizational skills - Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, • IT - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Understanding of Project Management software and database tools, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint is desirable, • Experience on US Navy, USCG, or similar US Federal Projects., • High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) required, bachelor’s degree and or Military Experience strongly preferred, • 5 years’ experience managing complex projects involving a variety of stakeholders, • 5 years’ experience in the marine industry, • Experience operating SAFE Boats or marine vessels, strongly preferred, • Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity, • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), • Position may require bending, twisting, leaning, climbing and other activities related to working on or with boats in production, • Ability to move and/or lift 40 lbs., • Ability to get underway with high-speed watercraft in variable weather conditions All new hires are subject to pre-employment drug screenings, background checks, and E-Verify, according to federal law.
