The CNM provides nurse-midwifery care in the Obstetrics, Midwifery, & Gynecology Clinic, Family Birth Center, and postpartum unit. In collaboration with the physician, the essential job functions include the following: • Antepartum care (both 1:1 and Centering Pregnancy) in collaboration with Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program team members and social service agencies;, • Intrapartum care and Birth Center triage;, • Postpartum care (inpatient and outpatient);, • Family planning;, • Furnishing of medication;, • Clinical education of nurse-midwifery students, medical students, and residents;, • Documentation of care via electronic medical record. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • LICENSE: Possession of a valid Certified Nurse Midwife Certificate issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing; (must be "Current" according to search.dca.ca.gov), AND, • LICENSE: Possession of a current Nurse Midwife Furnishing Number issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing; (must be "Current" according to search.dca.ca.gov), AND, • 2 years of intrapartum Certified Nurse Midwife experience (with no more than one year elapsed since their last intrapartum CNM experience) Company DescriptionThe Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. This clinical setting offers expanded options to patients, including nitrous oxide, as well as ongoing support of physiologic birth, demonstrated by collaboration with community doula programs and one of the lowest cesarean-section rates in California.
