Job Description Job Summary: The Construction Administrator III is a senior-level role responsible for leading construction administration activities across multiple or highly complex projects. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and proven leadership ability to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. The Construction Administrator III serves as a primary liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and clients while also supervising and mentoring junior administrators. This role represents the senior professional level before advancing to specialist or leadership tracks within the Construction Administration career progression. Primary Essential Functions: • Lead the construction administration of large-scale or complex projects, ensuring full compliance with contracts, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements., • Act as the primary point of contact with contractors, design teams, and clients, managing communications and resolving escalated project issues independently., • Conduct frequent site visits to verify progress, evaluate quality, and ensure adherence to safety standards., • Oversee review and processing of construction documents, including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution., • Lead construction meetings with stakeholders to review progress, align deliverables, and resolve conflicts., • Supervise, mentor, and train Construction Administration Assistants (Level 1), CA I (Level 2), and CA II (Level 3) team members, delegating responsibilities appropriately., • Direct project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch list management, and preparation of lessons learned reports., • Provide input into improving organizational standards, workflows, and best practices in construction administration. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Knowledge • Advanced understanding of construction processes, techniques, and quality assurance standards., • Comprehensive knowledge of contracts, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements., • Excellent organizational skills to lead multiple large-scale projects simultaneously., • Strong leadership, supervisory, and mentoring skills., • Advanced problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills., • Ability to work independently while providing leadership across teams., • Ability to identify and resolve complex project risks and technical challenges., • Ability to represent the organization effectively in high-stakes client and contractor interactions. Required • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience., • 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in construction administration, project management, or related roles., • Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring junior team members. Preferred • Professional certification (e.g., CCM, LEED, PMP) or advanced credentials., • Prior experience leading administration of large or complex construction projects. Physical Requirements: • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings., • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers., • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
