Job Description Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that all incoming and outgoing materials are handled accurately, safely, and efficiently. This position is responsible for inspecting shipments, managing shipping documentation, maintaining inventory records within software systems, and coordinating with carriers and internal teams to support smooth warehouse operations. Responsibilities • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and checking for damage or discrepancies., • Prepare and process all shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Track and trace shipments and provide timely status updates to management and customer service representatives., • Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries in line with operational needs., • Handle materials by unloading trucks, sorting and stocking received items, and loading outgoing freight., • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks safely and in accordance with company procedures., • Manage and update inventory records using software systems, such as an ERP system, to maintain accurate inventory levels., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area that adheres to company safety regulations., • Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal team members to resolve issues and support efficient logistics operations., • Work a PM shift Monday through Friday, supporting daily shipping and receiving activities. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving operations, including handling incoming and outgoing freight., • Proficiency with inventory management processes and systems, including experience using ERP or similar inventory software., • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently., • Strong attention to detail when verifying shipment contents and preparing documentation., • Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors, drivers, and internal staff., • Ability to coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries., • Capability to maintain an organized and safe work area in a warehouse environment., • Ability to work a PM shift Monday through Friday., • Bilingual communication skills, with Spanish proficiency acceptable. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience using SAP or similar systems for inventory and shipping processes., • Experience in order selection and material handling in a warehouse setting., • Bilingual abilities are preferred; Spanish-only communication skills are acceptable., • Comfort working with shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels., • Understanding of basic logistics and warehouse safety practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
