Summary As a member of Tech’s HR/Legal Systems team, the HCM Application Architect maintains, supports, and enhances the architecture of Human Capital Management related software solutions, making sure they fit with Wakefern's technology, infrastructure, and business strategy. This role is involved in all phases of the lifecycle of multiple HCM related solutions, including implementation, testing, and onboarding of new modules/functionality, ongoing application and platform support, and the creation/enhancement and support of robust reporting capabilities. For new HCM initiatives, this role will also assist with evaluating new application technologies and making recommendations for best uses for the company. In addition, HCM Application Architects train and mentor other team members in various facets of the supported HCM solutions. Essential Functions • Partner with leadership to help steer the future state technology, architectural strategy, and roadmap, while contributing with innovative new solutions., • Evaluate and recommend technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products. Execute proofs of concept to aid in selection and modeling best practices use to enable streamlined and efficient implementation., • Lead the ongoing collection, development, review, and adoption of architecture, development, and implementation standards and best practices., • Guide the governance process associated with technology standards., • Stay up to date on latest technologies, open-source projects, and languages., • Train and mentor other team members on standards and best practices as new technologies are implemented., • Oversee the design process for new HCM application software and enhancements/additional functionality for existing HCM application software., • Create models and prototypes, evaluating potential risks and defects, analyzing specifications, and customizing applications and modules for specific requirements., • Evaluate HCM-related reporting needs and create new reports and/or update existing reports as necessary to support business needs., • Provide unit testing, technical support, and training., • Shepard the application/module from inception throughout the delivery lifecycle (SDLC)., • Manage the risks associated with information and IT assets, including open-source components, through appropriate standards, security policies, and systems. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science preferred., • 10+ years of related IT experience., • 5-10 years of software architecture experience combined with at least 5 years of modern HCM solution implementation and support experience., • Strong general IT knowledge (applications development, testing, deployment, operations, documentation, standards, best practices, security, hardware, networking, etc.)., • Experience working with and managing cloud-based applications architecture is highly desired., • Experience with modern HCM solutions such as Dayforce, Workday, and UKG Pro is strongly preferred., • Proficiency in report writing using tools such as SQL and other relevant technologies is required., • Experience with design patterns in the creation of architectural deliverables., • Experience with SOA standards., • Experience with all aspects of the SDLC., • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in., • Excellent oral and written communication skills., • Ability to work well within a team environment., • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities to achieve maximum efficiency. Working Conditions & Physical Demands • This position requires in-person office presence at least 4 days per week. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations.
