The position may involve working within a multidisciplinary team that includes radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, and support staff focused on delivering safe, precise, and effective radiation therapy.\nDay-to-day responsibilities include patient-specific treatment planning support, chart checks, machine and patient quality assurance, and ongoing equipment performance evaluations. The Radiation Physicist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and quality records. Routine duties may include monthly and annual machine QA, participation in commissioning new technology, and assisting in the development and implementation of clinical protocols.\nTypical procedures supported in this environment may include 3D conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, VMAT, image-guided radiation therapy, and selected stereotactic techniques. Depending on the practice, there may also be opportunities to be involved in specialized procedures such as SBRT, SRS, or brachytherapy. Patient volumes and case complexity can be robust, offering exposure to a wide spectrum of disease sites and treatment modalities, which can be an excellent builder of clinical experience and confidence.\nThe schedule generally follows standard weekday hours, with participation in occasional after-hours or weekend work as needed for urgent clinical needs, equipment maintenance, or special projects. Call responsibilities, if present, are typically shared among the physics team to support a balanced workload. Therapeutic Radiation Physics Experience — 2–5+ years of applied radiation physics experience (beyond residency). Equipment Calibration & QA — 1–3+ years performing QA on imaging or therapy equipment. Treatment Planning Systems — 1–3+ years using TPS software (e.g., Eclipse, RayStation) inferred from typical clinical duties.
