Other minor duties may be assigned.: • Lead drivers to exceed productivity goals and expectations for all routes., • Create, modify, and improve routes to maximize density and improve efficiency., • Reduce route hours to the extent possible with techniques such as service conversions and container upsizing., • Understand and provide leadership to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives., • Work to remove unsafe conditions or situations from drivers’ routes., • Work with the sales team to identify and eliminate any unsafe conditions on new or existing customers, seeking service alternatives where appropriate., • Partner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards., • Oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries; ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees; implement and maintain an effective safety program., • Engage assigned employees in active participation to instill a culture of safety by demonstration of a personal commitment to safe operations and active personal outreach to operational employees., • Observes drivers on the road and corrects safety problems on the scene while documenting violations., • Documents and maintains records required by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOT), • Reviews and audits documentation related to route operations daily (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets), following up where appropriate., • Perform route vehicle inspections., • Conducts on-the-scene incident/accident investigation; assists drivers in preparing accident reports, and safety violations documents., • Conduct daily shift safety briefings at company depots., • The Driver position may be required to lift up to 50 pounds,, • Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather., • Drivers must be able to physically mount and dismount the truck throughout the duration of the workday Requirements and Qualifications:: • Must have a valid drivers license., • 3+ years of experience in transportation supervision or similar lead role., • Proficient knowledge and understanding of DOT rules and regulations., • Extensive knowledge of New York City roads and highways for route planning and support., • Current Driver’s License and no disqualifying violations on MVR., • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently., • Intermediate Word and Excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties., • Intermediate MS Outlook skills for regular daily communication with coworkers and departments, • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills., • Willingness to be flexible with schedule start and end times., • Be open and honest with team and manager on all levels. Job Description Overview CORT Furniture Rental is hiring immediately for full-time Delivery Assistants! With customer service as a priority, Delivery Assistants will help drivers with the delivery and installation of residential and office furnishings within the agreed upon time frame and in accordance with the lease agreement. Pay: $19 - $21 / hour depending on experience. This position is also eligible for CORT's Performance Sharing Plan (PSP) bonus plan. Schedule: Standard is Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:30pm; some flexibility or overtime may be required. Responsibilities • Inspect furniture to ensure it is in acceptable condition for delivery prior to loading, • Load box truck, checking items against lease agreement, • Deliver and install furniture within agreed upon time frame, • Pickup of furniture at lease end, • Inspect delivery vehicle to ensure safety Qualifications • 18 years of age or older, • Reliable transportation, • High school diploma or GED, • 3 months related warehouse experience and/or training required; 1+ year preferred, • Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner, • Must pass drug screening (does not include THC) and MVR checks as a condition of employment.
