Job DescriptionJob Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description The Pharmacy Technician supports safe and accurate medication dispensing in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will retrieve medications from stock, count and package orders for pharmacist review, maintain inventory levels, and help ensure patients receive their prescriptions accurately and on time. This full-time role requires strong attention to detail, comfort working within multiple computer systems, and a commitment to high-quality patient service. Responsibilities • Process and fill prescription orders in preparation for pharmacist verification, ensuring accuracy in medication selection, quantity, and labeling., • Retrieve medications from stock, count, and package prescription orders according to established procedures., • Perform some packing and shipping of completed prescription orders to patients, following all packaging and documentation requirements., • Maintain drug inventory, including monitoring stock levels and assisting with replenishment as needed., • Support the operation of automated dispensing units by maintaining appropriate inventory levels and accuracy., • Replenish work station supplies for filling prescriptions, including vials, caps, labels, and other packaging materials., • Remove outdated products from shelves and help ensure proper rotation of stock to maintain medication safety and compliance., • Assist with inventory replenishment and maintain par levels of pre-packaged auxiliary items., • Work within multiple computer systems simultaneously to process orders, document activities, and access medication or clinical information., • Respond to questions and provide specific medication details or clinical information within the scope of the role and under pharmacist oversight., • Occasionally contact patients for customer service calls, including inquiries about shipped orders or prescription-related questions., • Maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity to meet production and quality objectives in a high-volume setting., • Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to support efficient pharmacy operations and excellent patient care.Essential Skills, • High School Diploma or GED or higher level of education., • Current state of New Jersey Pharmacy Technician License., • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as part of daily duties., • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks., • Ability to work within multiple computer systems simultaneously while maintaining accuracy., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate filling, packaging, and labeling of prescriptions., • Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members., • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills to support a collaborative pharmacy environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Pharmacy or prescription data entry experience., • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)., • Previous experience working in a mail order pharmacy setting., • Competence in basic mathematical equations, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, for accurate measurement and dosing calculations., • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to navigate and use multiple systems efficiently., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet production and quality objectives., • Demonstrated ability to focus in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.Work Environment This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The role follows an 8-hour shift schedule within normal business hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed based on business demands. The environment is fast-paced and high volume, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery of important, sometimes life-saving medications. You will spend significant time standing at workstations, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working with computer systems, automated dispensing units, and standard pharmacy supplies such as vials, caps, and labels. The setting emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and a shared commitment to high-quality patient service. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Montville, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
