Job Description Position Summary Conducts day-to-day activities pertaining to picking material for the shipping department. Picks material accurately and in an efficient manner. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Essential Responsibilities In addition to the Responsibilities of “Picker”: • Utilize Pick Ticket information to effectively locate, verify, and record information to meet customer requirements., • Ability to use a barcode scanner and other forms of technology, • Ensure designated equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.), • Effectively communicate with department supervisors., • Attend daily departmental meetings and safety meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct them, • Identifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environment, • Material Verification and Documentation:, • Visual inspection, • Heat number(s) of each line item written on the Pick ticket as well as entered in to 4U using the provided barcode scanner, • Marking on the material matches what is written on the Pick Ticket as well as entered in to 4U using the provided barcode scanner, • Pick Ticket is properly filled out (pulled by, quantities, heat numbers, etc.), • Identify non-conformances and notify department leads and shipping supervisor. ·QMS: • Fully understands and maintains all expectations listed in the procedures and Work Instructions., • Follow Quality Policy and Department Processes., • Utilize all required PPE., • Follow all company policies regarding CDC recommendations for COVID19., • Maintain the daily checklist on the picker/forklift, • Attend daily safety meetings, • Ongoing responsibility to maintain a clear and safe work environment., • Maintain clear aisle ways and organize racks and dock space, • Speak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred, • 1+ years of warehouse experience, • Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables, • High school diploma or GED, • Basic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred., • Must be able to effectively use a barcode scanner to pick and pack orders, • Ability to drive a forklift and secure certification, • Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills, • Capable of lifting 50 lbs with back support, • Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned, • Takes initiative and can work independently, • Requires a high level of attention to detail, • Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities, • Performs other general warehouse duties as needed Company DescriptionWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), disability, and paid time off.
