___Job ID85228 LocationSacramento Full/Part TimeFull Time ______ #CA-SS This position is responsible for performing repair and maintenance on complex, very high-cost medical x-ray Imaging and treatment systems, including computed tomography (CT), Linear Accelerators/Treatment systems, Cardiac Catheterization Imaging, Digital radiography (DR), computed radiography (CR), Magnetic resonance imaging (MR), Angiography, Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras, fluoroscopy, special procedure imaging, Mammographic imaging, Ultrasound Imaging, portable x-ray machines and these systems associated/integrated support equipment. Assigned Responsibilities: 1. Imaging Group: diagnostic radiography systems, angiography, computed radiography equipment (CR), fluoroscopy, special procedure imaging, portable x-ray machines, and associated support equipment., 2. Primary responsibilities: One of the Modalities mentioned above. Secondary (first call and backup) responsibilities include all the above-mentioned modalities., 3. At least 40% of this job is assigned to very high-cost equipment (over $1,000,000 per system), listed above. Apply By Date April 11, 2026 at 11:59PM Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program, • Associate's degree in electronics/engineering and/or equivalent training/experience in the related field., • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintaining medical imaging equipment., • High level of x-ray and other medical imaging system equipment repair knowledge., • Knowledge of computers as they apply to medical imaging systems (e.g. DICOM)., • Knowledge of radiation safety requirements., • Electronic technician skills include electronic troubleshooting, systems troubleshooting, and the ability to read electronic schematics, perform electronic and electromechanical repairs., • Knowledge of physiology and anatomy sufficient to understand the function of complex medical imaging devices., • Skills to communicate with staff and vendors regarding equipment issues with verbal and written communication methods., • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) and/or factory-trained certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), • Active Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), • Computed Tomography (CT), • 50% - Repair and maintenance of Medical Imaging Equipment, • 20% - Preventive Maintenance, • 10% - Projects, • 10% - Installation and Incoming Inspections, • 5% - Parts and Equipment Inventory The Clinical Engineering Department provides a wide scope of services including: medical equipment planning, pre-purchase product evaluation, integration with IT systems, installation, and repair and maintenance services to the UC Davis Health (UCDH), including its primary care network (PCN) clinics, and Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California. In addition to repair and maintenance on most medical devices, we also provide services to the following specialty areas: medical imaging, radiation therapy, respiratory therapy, dialysis, anesthesiology, operating room, IT integration with medical devices, and ICU equipment.
