Job Description A nationally recognized litigation defense firm is expanding its medical malpractice defense practice across Midtown Manhattan, Long Island, and White Plains. The firm is actively hiring multiple attorneys due to continued growth and increased caseload demand. The practice is structured around mentorship, collaboration, and long-term attorney development. Attorneys work closely with experienced partners and senior litigators in a high-volume litigation environment focused on healthcare defense matters. Responsibilities: • Defend hospitals, physicians, and healthcare providers in malpractice litigation, • Manage discovery, including document review and responses, • Conduct and defend depositions, • Draft and argue motions, • Appear in court for hearings and conferences, • Perform legal and medical research, • Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution Candidate Requirements: • Admission to the New York Bar at time of interview, • 2+ years of medical malpractice defense experience preferred, • Junior candidates with prior exposure (e.g., clerkship experience) considered, • Mid/senior candidates must have direct malpractice defense experience, • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills, • Ability to manage high caseloads Compensation: • Junior associates: ~$100,000+, • Mid-level: $100,000 – $150,000, • Senior / Of Counsel: $150,000 – $200,000, • Bonus structure begins at 1,950 billable hours and increases incrementally Benefits: • Medical, dental, and vision coverage with multiple plan options, • Employer-paid disability insurance, • Life insurance coverage, • 401(k) with employer match, • PTO ranging from 21–26 days depending on tenure, • 11 paid holidays, • Parental leave and commuter benefits Work Expectations: • 1,950 annual billable hours requirement, • Hybrid schedule (3 in-office / 2 remote), • Mandatory in-office collaboration day each week (Monday), • Multiple office locations across NYC region Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000 Reference: 148365

The Position Wilson Elser's White Plains office is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to work with a leading Medical Malpractice and Long-Term Care defense team. Key Responsibilities • Prepare legal filings: format documents, pull exhibits, proofread and redact documents, • Prepare court filings, become familiar with court rules and filing procedures, • E-file court filings, • Open new matters, • Document management and organization, saving to network, indexing for file room, • Retrieve court decisions from Westlaw, • Prepare cover letters for attorney bills, • Input billing information into billing software, • Schedule conferences and depositions, maintain attorney calendars, • 2+ years Litigation experience, • Prior experience with litigation involving Medical Malpractice, • Must have prior experience with litigation procedures and processes, e-filing, and creating table of authorities, • Familiarity with New York State and Federal court procedures and rules, • Ability to work in a team-based setting with other Legal Secretaries supporting a group of attorneys, • Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks, • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment, • Excellent typing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Outlook, Excel), • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Benefits: Outstanding benefits package, including 401k match and generous PTO plan, • Career Growth: Ample opportunities for professional development and advancement
