Position Overview: The Senior Consultant / Controller position is a client facing position, entrusted with managing complex projects and assignments, often overseeing multiple deliverables, timelines, and tasks assigned to other staff, while maintaining positive client relationships. In addition to providing critical feedback to improve quality, defining and managing project scope, and ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget, Senior Consultants leverage strong controller skills to support financial oversight and project controls. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, and data analysis, enabling them to synthesize complex information, generate actionable insights, and drive data-informed decision-making. Their role includes effective meeting management, from agenda preparation to follow-up tracking, and leveraging organizational resources to maintain consistency and excellence. Senior Consultants operate with a high degree of independence but also collaborate with others to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Essential Functions: • Manage complex projects and assignments, overseeing multiple deliverables and tasks assigned to other staff, ensuring all work is completed on time and within budget., • Leverage controller skills to support financial oversight, budget creation and tracking, financial reporting, audit preparation and other duties common to a finance department., • Utilize Power Query and advanced data analysis techniques to synthesize complex information, generate actional insights and support data driven decision making., • Use Power Query and advanced data analysis to generate insights and support decision-making., • Create high-quality client deliverables and synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations., • Build strong client relationships and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative solutions. Requirements: Required Competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities): • Experience managing teams, • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, • Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, and MIP, • Ability to execute all aspects of the accounting cycle including but not limited to AP, AR, depreciation, JEs and completing month-end and year-end closing procedures and preparation of month-end financial statements and dashboards, • Advanced MS Excel skills including X Lookups, Pivot Tables, Power Query and Power Pivot, • Experience with general ledger functions, • Strong attention to detail, • Ability to work effectively with individuals and part of a team, • Strong written and oral communication skills, • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Related Field, • 5+ years of accounting experience, • Experience delegating, reviewing and finalizing projects, • Healthcare Experience, • Public Accounting Experience, • Technical expertise applicable to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times., • Able to travel as needed.
